So it happened again. I tapped the starter a couple times with a tire iron and it started. It's definitely the starter. Thanks for all of your responses. I love the site.
My recollection on the H6 automatics gearing concurs but that 4cyl auto legacys and outbacks differed
Outback 4 cyl 4.44
Legacy 4 cyl 4.11
H6 outback 4.11
Manually close the latch on the hatch. Just push it in and it'll click.
Car will think it's closed.
Then when you want to close it. Hit the switch on the latch, it'll release it (just like opening the hatch in the first place) and you're done.
No the bleeder is at the top of the radiator on the passenger side. It's either a Phillips plastic plug or some are square. It is there to "bleed" the air out as you are filling.
GD
Plugs is all I know besides that. You could get a port and polish, but that's more than needed.
Was at the dealership and saw that they had the parts list and part numbers for a head gasket install taped to the desk, lol.
Should be the same, 25 will be heavier, so more tourque, but slower to rev and less top end.

Cool diagrams Jono!
Have you not managed to find a factory pin out for this yet?
You should try to find a gen2 ej22 pin out and see if it's the same.
Cheers
