  1. For $3,I would get the book too.https://www.ebay.com/itm/1982-CARTER-WEBER-OEM-ORIGINAL-CARBURETOR-SERVICE-MANUAL-FOR-MODEL-TYF/142680349224?hash=item2138695a28:g:ky4AAOSwM91aeH0n

  2. You should be good w/the complete number.I would make some phone calls to be sure. I know there were 2 versions w/minor differences.I thought 82/3 were the same and 84s differed. The pulse solenoid is also known as the duty solenoid. All of the solenoids are ID`d in #s 1&2 here https://www.mastertechmag.com/pdf/1988/10oct/198810IS_CarterWeber1Barrel.pdf

  3. Yeah, I would like to have a reliable driver. I'll replace glass and window seals and such. Going to mostly be a in town car and fire service road explorer.

  4. My brumby/brat is a GL - but that has nothing to do with rear seats... Cheers Bennie

  5. Thanks fellas I concur. I admit that I thought the spokes looked better at first, but the 80s weirdness needs the alloys, the spokes do look best on the wagons. The premiers are indeed 13s and you're right the trim ring makes the 8 spokes look even smaller!

  6. Single barrel eh? Will a rochester monojet fit? The little one for the corvair might be right up your alley. I bet it does fit because Carter made the carbs for the turbo corvair.

  7. if your tires are wearing evenly, I wouldn't bother. If you have an inner or outer shoulder worn more than the rest then get an allignment

  8. Dumbest thing I did was take my roof racks off at a manual car wash station..........and forgot to put them back on before leaving. I didnt realize it until a couple days later.........uh oh. But, I thought I should go back and hope for a miracle they were still there. Luckily, they were still where I sat them down......days later. What a lucky SOB I was, whew!

  10. If your after the simplest, cheapest, fastest "get on with life" solution a complete carter/weber beats a weber swap. I don`t think you will need concours condition for originality to add value in the future.

  11. Welcome to the forum! Awesome to see another L being saved. I’m guessing the green L isn’t as good as the blue one - both are touring wagons so they don’t have the same trim spec as such. Personally I prefer the series two which is what the green one is. I’m looking forward to more of your build pics Cheers Bennie

  12. Exactly. Considerable body damage to drivers rear quarter, paint is shot, front bumper dents.... the man is trying to get his hooptie on the road not restore it to showroom. Not that it couldn't be nice with a ton of work, but no inclination toward that end is on exhibit here. Screw that Carter single barrel worn out trash. Stuff it in the attic and get on the road and on with life. GD
