  1. Have now picked up a low mileage ea82 for a good price. I'll be swapping that in sometime over the next couple of weeks, then rebuilding the heads and doing gaskets on the original engine, which has now clicked over 445,000 kms! Have also located a set of good seats, purchased some vinyl for the door trims and got a contact who can redo the headliner. The I just need to find a set of good alloy wheels, and repaint the bootlid and she's done! Looking forward to getting my first (mild) restoration done.

  6. And then the bean counters came along for my GLTA ! Well the EA82T had a pair of solenoid like switches on the strut tower. One to trigger light, other for overboost ecu cut out. Wonder if you got cut out? If so vacuum must go to two devices same location with a T piece in vacuum line. Thanks for the quick pic

  7. +1 on them being AWFUL cars, possibly the worst car Subaru has ever built. I hate when they come in and being the 'last one to touch it.' We have a saying at our shop: "Friends don't let friends buy Legacy GTs" I recently told someone in the local FB group that I could rewrite the lyrics to "We Didn't Start the Fire" with all the common problems these cars have.

  8. Nice. Is that for setting toe? What do you mean by side to side? where do you take measurements on that rig? I pull a string across two jack stands, offset for front/rear track widths, and measure front and rear of front tire for toe. I haven’t made a camber rig yet.
