  1. G'day, finally reset my password after a year of lurking, I've been saved by this site multiple times so it's about time I seriously participated I think :) My Soob is a 1991 Australian model L Series wagon, carbed EA82 5MT DR with 2" body lift. When I got it a year ago I think I posted a photo in the old gen board, it's changed a lot since then for better and worse. Attached is a recent-ish photo (old guards were hacked up to get me to work in time after fitting 27s) For a year this rolling coffin has taken me up one of the dodgiest roads in NSW twice a day with leaks springing everywhere, bearings failing but she keeps going. Not going to be my daily much longer though, it's getting a bit much Hopefully knowledge I gain rednecking this thing to get to work in under an hour will help someone here :)

  2. Sounds like it could be a free wheeling drive axle. Have you checked the CV joints? Classic symptom of "park" not working since there's an open drive shaft. Are you saying the noise continues with the car stopped with the engine running or just when moving?

  3. It should not go into limp mode from knock sensor, unless the author meant a split second limp mode. All my knock circuit does on EA82 is pull the ignition timing back about maximum 10 degrees very quickly then progressively add timing back to normal until next knock sensed. I would expect same of EJ ECU

  4. Lol! I posted this when I was in a rush, the sleeve came with no chapstick when I got it, that’s my own, I’m not that barbaric now... the sleeve was found outside of target parking lot, that’s all I know. not like it matters much at this point anymore, my gf took it from me and put it on her keychain, so now I really need to find more!!!

  5. Yes and no. Depends what hat I'm wearing at my performance shop. Most of the time I'm management, and sometimes I'm the janitor. My most important role is as the shop's lead diagnostic technician. Occasionally I get to open up my $14,000 Snap-On tool box and *just* be a mechanic - usually on weekends when no one is bothering me and I'm usually spending that time working on personal vehicles or projects - none of which are Subaru's other than the wife's Outback. This is our website: http://superiorsoobie.com/ Does that answer your question? GD
