You'll need to use the 05+ sohc ej25 cam and crank timing gears to get the correct pattern, the 205 intake manifold will bolt to phase 2 sohc heads. You may be better off going with GM LS coil near plug setup and doing custom wires. You'd need to adjust the ignition dwell settings in the 205 ecu to keep from frying coils though.
With the oil filter off you will see a port that is the other end of the pick up in the sump. There is a size of clear PVC tube about 10 mm? OD that you can shove in it add a funnel then pour oil into it, down to pick up. Has worked for me every time.
You can try filling the filter halfway with oil and returning it to the pump to see if it helps but this seems like a bigger issue. If you refilled the engine and started it the filter should have filled itself within seconds. Are you sure there is nothing blocking the passageway on your pump assembly(which the filter and sending unit is part of)?
I'll post some pictures tomorrow, but I have the new seat mounted and I love it. Stiffer for sure and actually a little shorter than the OEM though that's strictly due to the bracket mechanism a friend made for me. If I was very more concerned about fit adjustability I'd have the bracket mechanism modified to allow it to shift left or right to accommodate for the drive shaft well and the width of the seat. I could shift another 3/4 inch and raise the seat height a bit and it would nearly be a perfect fit. I went for too long using the passenger seat in the driver side so I feel like I'm riding in the lap of luxury now with both front seats installed. I could see myself down the line replacing the passenger side for match and durability. I think these new seats are going to wear very well over the long term.
