  3. With the oil filter off you will see a port that is the other end of the pick up in the sump. There is a size of clear PVC tube about 10 mm? OD that you can shove in it add a funnel then pour oil into it, down to pick up. Has worked for me every time.

  4. Here is the OEM part # in case you have any issues or prefer to stick with original parts.

  5. That should work perfectly. The roll pins are the same on multiple models. I may have to get a few of those to have around myself. Lol.

  6. I have a set of generic clip hardware I got from autozone(has clevis pins, snap rings, roll pins, etc.) and the larger roll pin is perfect for these axles. I destroyed mine getting it out last time and replaced it with no problem. I will try and get you the info on the assortment as soon as I step out to my shop.

  7. Turns out the switch for the Center Light was bad. Pulled it out of the dash and it looked like it had been underwater with rust happening. Swapped it out with a better condition switch and the 3rd Eye is active again. Thanks for your posts el_freddo and Subi81. Feel as though I understand the Center Light setup more now, even though I didnt have to dig very far. Checked grounds and connections, then checked that the bulb itself was good, before trading out the switch itself.

  8. You may want to try swapping these two parts. They are the same on the 96 and 98. For the misfire, swap the Ignition Control Module. It is located at the center of the firewall. It is the same size as the plug connected to it. The ECU sends signals to it and it controls the coil. For the rpm thing, swap the Throttle Position Sensor from the 98 intake to the 96 intake you are using now. It is mounted on the side of the throttle body with 2 screws. It is adjustable, so you will need a volt meter. Turn the ignition switch to ON, do not start. Measuring from a good ground on the meter, the center wire on the plug should be adjusted to .5 volts (half a volt) with the throttle fully closed. The bottom wire is ground and the top wire is hot from the ECU. Which Mass Airflow Sensor are you using?

  9. Yep, '05-'09 Leg/OBK wagons were somewhat prone to the hatch wires breaking where they are bent every time the hatch is opened and closed. When I worked at the dealership, we stocked all the versions of the hatch harness (there were like 4 different part numbers. IIRC about $80, which is waaaayyy cheaper than paying hourly to fix each individual break, only to have other wires still brittle).

  10. Yes. I have run my EA82MONGREL for years without the factory water temp gauge. Instead I use two metal temp gauges, one purely as a high temp alarm set to 96° C They are simple, cheap, Chinese made and sourced 12V aquarium digital units with switching for alarm as I first mentioned, the second is my visible in digital numbers and also set to turn both fans on at 92°C metal temp I used to run separate fan switching so I slow traffic just to manually turn one on, but two at same time have been working well, they cycle on and off pretty quickly

  11. 1981 wagon been sitting since ~2003 (so 16+ years) before and after. Started getting real bad lichen on the shady side. Getting it back into commuting shape. Parts going to powdercoat and coming back. Letting cars sit for so long just absolutely kills them.

  12. I would look elsewhere, there must be similar cars in better shape for the price of this one plus its necessary repair work. I would only buy a broken car if I knew what was broken, how to fix it it, and how much to fix it.

  13. Are you in Somers NY or where in CT? I wouldn't trust Firestone to check my tire pressure. Aren't they the ones who "did" the oil change to begin with which raised your initial question? I know others more knowledgeable than myself have raised issues of plausible deniability but... What is the book value of the car right now?

  15. I used a set of Integra DA9 seats. A bracket needed to be made up to support the back angle adjustment. A few new holes under the seat to reduce the rail width, then bolt the factory rails on and the seats in the brumby. These give me a nice “hug” while driving. I’ll have to get a pic as I don’t have one in my collection Cheers Bennie
