  1. Thanks for the prompt responses everyone. You were on the money. The coolant pooled around the top (white part) of the spark plug and was shorting out. Problem fixed. Thanks again guys!

  2. yeah, ANYTHING related to the cooling system requires a check inside the radiator for cooling system volume. It's important to keep the overflow bottle at proper level in a functioning cooling system, but the o'flow bottle is untrustworthy as an good indicator of coolant volume. if original, a '99 could need a new OEM radiator cap.

  4. OK, there may be a way to use something like aquariam air supply tubing and one of those tiny neodymium magnets. If you had a length of tubing that would fit down the drain tube, with the magnet epoxied in the end, the tubing should help 'stand-off' the magnet from the sides enough that you could still slide the tubing down for a fishing expedition.

  5. Here is something that will help when installing the new bearing. Put the new bearing it the freezer. It will shrink a tiny bit. After the old bearing is out, use a sanding drum in a drill to remove rust. Heat the housing with a heat gun or a small torch. It doesn't have to be red hot. The new bearing should slide into place with very little force. I did this years ago on my 84 Dodge Rampage. I had the front knuckle turned outward with the opening facing slightly upwards and when I released the bearing it dropped into place. No hammering.
