Sorry, if i wasn't clear, i will either be using a borescope to inspect the cylinder through the spark plug holes or removing the head in its entirety. The sump needs to come off because I have to get the remaining pieces of the lifter out of it as they're too big to pull out through the bung by magnet fishing .
The other cam lobes are (at least to my eye) pristine. Crisp corners, no scratches.
