  1. The problem with those older model engines is so many parts are NLA. If you have a car that needs that engine, and you want it more or less stock, get any you find for parts. But as a swap or something to try to make performance mods on, not a good choice.

  2. there is some suspect that the engine isnt as highly modded as they are saying, no details kinda sus. also, its still basically an EA clutch so high performance? more like stock lol

  3. No to you. Some ER27 die hard might wet their pants over it. @Eric4 - if you’re new to this, look into an engine that doesn’t necessarily require specialist knowledge and a stash of parts for the odd Sunday drive. More fun and reliability would be dropping in an EZ (correct GD, I’m not gear with the 3 and 3.6L engines) with aftermarket management. Then your gearbox becomes the issue, and your brakes on the EA platform. What’s this purchase going into anyway? All that said, conversions aren’t for novices unless you have a good, knowledgeable mechanic and very deep pockets! Keep researching, ask appropriate questions that you don’t find answers to in your research. Keep the links of good info for reference Cheers Bennie

  5. OK, I thought about washing and waxing but decided my 2005 Outback with 205,000 miles, CEL 5 codes P0174, 0420, 1155, wheel bearings shot, worn tires, leaking HGs, VC gaskets, power steering pump replacement leaking, brakes worn out, HVAC selector worn and not "selecting" (of issue since all the above mentioned leaking fluids that weren't trailing the car or polluting every place I parked, burnt off on the exhaust and made breathing a challenge in the car) was a car in need of a new car so I traded it in on a 2019 Outback Premium with 8K miles. I'll do just about anything to avoid washing and waxing a car.

  6. Try using some metal glue or permanent locktite on it to fix that ring in place. Cheers Bennie

  7. Has anyone ever heard of the place? http://www.ramengines.com/index.html A little pricey, but if you want the best for your EA81... They have custom made heads and intakes and forged piston sets. EDIT: Sorry for the huge pics...
