  1. Changed out the spark plugs, seems to have fixed the issues. Simple as that, should've done that first. Haha.

  2. Yes, but that means less oxigen available for combustion. Your engine will run rich. Gonna need to clean those plugs...

  3. That additional air is added weight and lost fuel economy. Better to fill that tire with Helium or Hydrogen to offset the weight cost. Might as well do all of them while you're at it. GD

  4. you guys with older cars, check your spare's pressure. In prepping for a trip to CoSpgs, I was giving my WRX a LOOONG overdue bit of basic cleaning, decide to check the air pressure in the spare - yeah, it was under 10psi.!!! I guess I had never checked it in 15 years. lubed the lock cylinders, some hinges and handles, etc. too. Pre-loaded some cargo as it may be raining here in the next day or 2.

  5. Same situation - 1986, one owner XT turbo with 80K sat 20 some years. New gas, filters, and timing belts. Three years and another 15K miles with zero issues. As far as a mechanic to go through it - good luck with that ! I paid the local Subaru guys to inspect it and they charged me 120.00 to tell me it was old and had some rust. They refused to do any kind of work on it. Some BS about liability and parts availability. Well the parts availability is a thing. You'll learn to search the forums for advice and interchangeable information real quick. FWIW Some Loyale parts are useful. Fun car though - worth the hassles !

  6. If you decide to skip, check the bolts. I found some were barely finger tight, but, don't over-torque the VC bolts . The value is quite low and they have been known to snap.

  7. Those plugs get sealant from the factory but that looks sloppier than most. At this age it’s not a bad idea to install new valve cover gaskets and spark plugs so you don’t have to think about it again for a 100k miles. Address those while it’s out. That being said they aren’t hard to do in the vehicle if you don’t want to. Definitely do the spark plugs now. They’re annoying in the vehicle and the stock plugs are so good they last a loooomg time. 100k easily. Valve covers can go either way. Would you rather have down time now or later? How frugal are you. How annoyed will you be if you have to do them later…lots of variables.

  8. But, I made the Earth's atmosphere thinner by sequestering some air in my tire so, less aerodynamic drag.

  9. hah ! Partly to indicate origin of photo, that it is not lifted from elsewhere on the 'net, partly to indicate a RHD component warning and a scaling for screw head size and a little to show off our polymer ! Gees, 33 years old now , the plastic money, started off with a mostly uncirculated $10
