yeah, the 02 i had could be difficult at times. but letting it sit for a few minutes... pull dipstick, wipe well, and then check usually gives a reasonable view. letting it sit overnight almost invariably showed slightly over full.. but check it within an hour of being run and it was pretty much dead on every time.

Hey all, car didn't sell at auction but made a deal after the fact and it was sold for what I was looking to get. The kicker is the car is on it's way back to its home, Japan. One less coupe in the states now. I delivered the car to the buyer in Sacramento CA (6 hour drive) and he drove it the rest of the way to Los Angeles. Definitely no trailer queen here, and with the original 1400 wet sleeve engine no less. Going to miss her but it's on to the next project.

But you do need *something* or you heat soak the crap out of the intercooler and that does lead to unnecessary pulling of timing, detonation, and poor performance. GD

if it looks reasonably level to they eye, it should be fine. some parking lots are obviously on a slope, others look reasonably level.. does not need to be dead level, but not on an obvious slope either.. if you are checking oil level when getting gas, check it last, not first... ie: pump your gas, clean windshield, etc.. then check oil level last.

Hello!, I am new to these boards and should introduce myself. I am a big fan of the old gen Subarus. I am however getting out of the auto hobby. As a result, I am looking for a fellow fan in the Helena MT area who can give my 85 sedan a good home. I am looking to provide this to the right person for free. This car was stored in a garage for about 10 years before I got it however it was also driving by 2 high school kids before that so it has been used. This thing has had a bunch of stuff replaced but the engine needs mor help than I can provide. I really think it could be a great ride for the right person. I will try to upload some images.
