  1. Hey all, I know this place is a graveyard lately, but I had a little time and figured I'd share pictures with the few who still come here on occasion of the latest addition to my automotive collection... a car I've dreamed about owning practically my whole life. I finally own a 1993 Citroën XM! It's a Turbo C.T. model, which means it has a Peugeot XU10J2TE, the same 2.0L turbo 4cyl in the Peugeot 605, the XM's stablemate. And yes, it's a manual! Don't worry, the B4 RSK is still around! In fact, I did a TON of suspension work on it recently... if time permits, I'll upload photos of that as well. And I still have the Spectron too! Hope everyone is well!

  2. Isn't that what the oil separator plate is about? Keeping the oil from splashing up into the PCV valve, which is right above it?

  3. Thought I'd share how I mounted my jump seat bracket using swaybar bushings. 6x 25mm bushings/brackets from eBay (~$50). Bolts/nuts/fender washers ($10) Ground off the original mounting tabs off the original brackets. Set the brackets location by test fitting. Benefits: diy friendly (no welding), removable, urethane adds a little comfort to the seat. Hope this helps!

  5. For the throttle cable I removed the L series cable, filed the hole in the firewall to match the fitting on the EJ throttle cable. Clipped the cabin side of the cable into the throttle pedal. Can’t remember if there were any further mods there. Then it was just a case of routing the throttle cable through the engine bay so it sat naturally. It sits out over the radiator from memory before it comes back into the throttle body. Mine’s RHD so it’ll be a bit different for LHD conversions I’d imagine! Fuel pump wiring, dunno how the EJ had it placed in the vehicle, I think I just used the power wire from the EJ loom and ran my own earth wire of the same thickness to a good earth point in the loom. It’s well over a decade since I did my conversion so these finer details are a little hazy without visiting the vehicle to see what I’ve done. Good to know the engine runs on starter fluid. The fuel pump could be dead. Or if the engine sat for a long time the injectors could be stuck. If this is the case, while the engine is running on starter fluid, gently give the injectors a tap with the handle of a screw driver several times. Sometimes this is enough to free them up. The next step is to have them serviced or swapped out for known running ones. Cheers Bennie

  6. Turn it over by hand. 22mm nut on the fromt of the crank. The side timing covers can come of pretty easy. The center section is a bit of work, but you can pull the crank sensor and see the mark on the tooth. Have you replaced the starter or starter contacts?

  7. Clean your throttle body. As in remove it and scrub it out. With DBW throttle control the ECU uses the throttle motor for idle control. They get dirty, respond slowly, and they drop outside the range of the proportional, integral, and derivative (PID) gain controls the ECU uses to stabilize it's operation. GD

  8. Much simpler, given they made 2006 Baja XT's, to just buy one and start with that. The Baja XT is very similar to a similar year STi except with a 5MT. Cost to do this swap is probably in the neighborhood of $10k in parts to do it the right way. You'll always be money ahead starting with a turbo chassis from the factory. GD
