  1. My apologies to Porcupine; I really screwed up my questuion. Also, all my cars are non-turbo, AWD, and manual transmission. So from the p/n's he mentions, the spare axle I pulled from a '95 Legacy at PAP should fit my '97 Impreza. And the spare rebuilt axle I bought recently from MWE won't work. But I doubt it's the spline count. I think I'll be counting them tomorrow just for laughs. Thanks.
  2. My error; we have a '91 Legacy wagon and a '97 Impreza L wagon. I was more confused than I thought. Must have been all the sun:lol: .
  3. Of course I find a torn boot on labor day weekend when everyone is closed. Anyway, I found a torn boot on our '97 Impreza wagon while working on it today. I happen to have a spare rebuilt axle for our '91 Legacy from MWE sitting on my shelf but I'd rather not pull the Impreza axle until I know I can replace it properly. I THINK they are the same axle, but I'm not sure. Both cars are AWD manual transmission cars. Edit: For those late to read this; I originally posted '97 Legacy instead of Impreza. I also didn't include that both wagons were non-turbo models. Sorry for my carelessness. Thanks to grossgary for noticing the error and porcupine73 for figuring it out anyway.
  4. '96 MODEL year EJ22 is non-interference. '97 MODEL year EJ22 is an interference engine. My '97 Impreza was built in 10/96 but is a '97 model; hence it is an interference engine.
  5. This is what I found on the weber shop; they had a second shop in Auburn; maybe the Fife location closed. http://www.carburetion.com/
  6. There's a weber shop in Fife that likely has the parts you need and can identify them for you. Bow Wow auto parts in Lynnwood has the lowest price on the adapter plate that I've seen.
  7. Next event by Oregon Rally Group will be Sept. 9th in Hillsboro, OR. Details can be found at http://www.oregonrally.com/Event_Detail.cfm?EventID=512 Looks like the week before will start off with a bit of rain! http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=Hillsboro%2C+OR
  8. Nothing wrong with used Silverstones. Lots of us use them; no longer suitable for the "big guns" but great for a few more seasons of rallycross.
  9. O2blur posted some great videoclips on nasioc. You'll need quicktime. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1331341&page=3
  10. Why do you feel it's easier? I need a ferry ride as well as about 2-1/2 hours to get to the Port Angeles ferry dock. I can be in Tsawassen in about 2-1/2 hours and have never spent more than 45 minutes at the Truck Crossing adjacent to the Peace Arch location and that was unusual. I'm not trying to create an argument here, but can you expand on it a bit more. I'm not sure if that weekend is free for me yet, but I'd certainly come up for it if I could. I don't plan on bringing my mud tires but hope to have a nice set of rally tires mounted by then. Any information your friend Jay has on classes, if any, would be appreciated. I run a pretty stock '97 Impreza L with fancy tires which puts me into Prepared AWD class down here.
  11. Can you post the information on the Mt. Washington event. If the timing is right you might drag me up there to play.
  12. Took a walk through the Tacoma PAP last Friday. A half dozen EA82's, three EA81's, and three early legacies. Also the remains of a white full-time AWD RX. Rear diff is gone (of course) but I think the transmission is still there. Also a number of parts unique to that car; it might share a rear bumper with the XT?
  13. Also has the advantage of being a non-interference engine as opposed to your '97. Just check that it's an EJ22 for that price; some '96's still came with the EJ18. Nothing wrong with an EJ18 (better gas mileage and more shifting) but it would lower the price a bit over an EJ22.
  14. There's more in my photo gallery: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showgallery.php?cat=1045 JRach took this of me driving my wife's car.
  15. It was nice to see some new faces as well as the regulars out there. Nice course design and limited use of the water truck; and then it started to rain in the late afternoon. A lot of fun. I should have some pics up later this weekend. Sadly I couldn't take very many pics of the M4 and PA classes since it's hard to get out to photo op while running in those classes. But I got a few near the end after I had finished my runs.
  16. Looks like we might have a little bit of rain. http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=McCleary%2C+WA More information here: http://www.pacificrallygroup.com/archives/07/rci082507.html
  17. A high quality plastic polish, a soft cloth, and about 15 to 20 minutes work on each headlight.
  18. And results: http://www.oregonrally.com/files/RX_8_19_2007.pdf
  19. Some really fine pics from Ben B: http://www.benbradley.us/rally.html More fine pics from Zack G: http://www.flickr.com/photos/9924449@N07
  20. Probability of rain on Sunday went from 30% to 60%!
  21. Sorry, I'll be down in Astoria for the rallycross that weekend. You'll not be able to see the SuperImp!
  22. I have bought the last three radiators I've used on our family collection of old cars from Spokane Auto Wrecking. They are new, unknown brand, single core and sell for about $100 shipped to my door via UPS. They have all fit well and every one cured the overheating problem we had and are still continuing to work in the cars that we still own. Somewhere in my posts I have an 800# for them, but you can google them if you like.
  23. Just so there's no mis-understanding, these are the 4x140mm wheels from the EA82 series; as I said I'm not sure if the center caps are available with them. Here's a pic to be sure.
