  1. I'm planning on meeting up at Zap's around noon and following him in with our camper. I haven't decided yet if I'm taking the Imp also.
  2. Too bad; I was hoping no one would notice! I like running in the morning! And then running again in the afternoon!!!!!
  3. Not only were they tight, but also short 3 and 4 cones each if I remember correctly. But the reason for the tight slaloms I suspect was that the PIR field is truly too small to lay out a decent length rallycross. I like PIR since it makes getting there and back from Seattle so much easier than fighting the traffic on 26 from Hillsboro.
  4. I haven't seen an Impreza there in three months. I was there today and there still weren't any.
  5. Being one who collected a gate penalty on the first run and I still don't know where I did it; never did it again in the next 9 runs either. Course was great and lots o' fun. Some of the other gate penalties were the fact the the first run was slick and the two slaloms were very tight...not hard to collect a gate penalty then. Besides the relatively low entry, the course was quick, low 60's for the faster cars; AND April kept everything ON TIME. They almost had enough time for fun runs at the end, but elected to clean up the course and pack it up in time for results. Everyone was on the way home around 4:30 or 5:00. Published results in 3 days wasn't bad either.
  6. Memory is not as good as it used to be and I must have had a case of "organize-itis" and thrown them out since I don't have them anymore. I could pull a set if I find an acceptable one at PAP if you like.
  7. I have a grey driver's side visor in vinyl for the Impreza. $15 plus shipping and it's yours.
  8. I might have an Impreza visor; I have lots of Legacy ones. Let me check.
  9. Now that I've had a chance to look at the scores, here are some familiar names: qman won M4 class and set the best morning run total time as well as the best single run time in his red hot Impreza. XSNRG took 6th in M4 with his white RX and was only 1 second behind qman for best single run time. He also was 2nd Time Only in the afternoon runs. I managed to place 8th in P4 in the morning in my '94 Impreza, but came back to take 1st in the afternoon for Time Only; 2nd for overall best time for the afternoon run. GLCraigGt was 11th in P4 in his trusty '84 wagon with exceptionally consistent times for all 5 runs in spite of the water truck making the course slick. 99Legacy took 2nd in S4 with his bargain Impreza and rebuilt engine. I believe that's his second 2nd place finish in two tries. cfwdfw (Charlie from the nasioc board) placed 3rd in P4 in my Impreza and is currently in the lead for season P4 honors.
  10. I will have them if I haven't thrown them out; I have the rails; need to look for the retractors and belts. They were blue and I hope I still have them. ---ed---
  11. I picked up two alloys yesterday (see classified forum). But there are three steel pug 14" wheels still on the Peugeot in the yard (third one is the spare). These are the type with the oval holes.
  12. From the ORG website: Next RallyCross RallyCross #5 Jul 16 Organized By : ORG (Oregon Region) 2006 Season - Event 5 of 8 Location: Portland International Raceway Sessions: AM session Registration 8-9am Classes: M2, M4, PA, TO (time only) PM session Registration 12-1pm Classes: SF, SR, SA, PF, PR, TO Entry Fee: $25 for ORG/SCCA Members $30 for non-members
  13. Check for play in the distributor shaft; if none, check wiring to coil and sparkplugs. Normally, this is due to the distributor bushings having too much play as GD already pointed out.
  14. I recently replaced my '91 legacy belts with the Canadian version. Since I never can seem to throw anything away, you're welcome to my old belts, retractor and all if that will help you figure out how to make your belts work again. Free for the pickup in Bothell. Drop me a PM for a 'phone # if you think it will be helpful.
  15. What is it about early July and birthdays. Jeanne's b'day is the 5th....a little late to party but that's okay. We should be there with the camper and I'll hitch a ride with others unless I bring the Brat along.
  16. I'm close enough to get up to Vancouver Island if need be. About two hours driving and a great ferry ride. I didn't see a lot of information about how to get there and what part of the Island I should head for. Would it be better to come into Nanaimo or Victoria? July is out for me since relatively local events have me O.D.-ing this July (4 rallycrosses in 5 weekends!! ). But I'd be interested in future events if you'd list them. I'm always looking for an excuse to visit Vancouver Island. Thanks for posting.
  17. It's about 1/8" steel; I didn't have it on the Impreza when I thumped the oil pan pretty hard at the Brooklyn Rallycross; luckily no apparent damage although I will have to pull and replace the oil pan one of these days. I built this to get me through until I got a "real" skidplate installed. It's the one that came off an EA82 wagon and I have hit that occasionally when I owned my '86. This is not intended for a "real" sump guard, but it's better than not having anything there. I'm a little surprised that Subaru didn't install a stock version on the Legacy and Impreza like they did on the Loyale series.
  18. I finally bought the real thing from Primitve Racing in Tigard, OR (www.get-primitive.com) to protect the underside of my 1994 Impreza. However, before I got that, I modified the sump guard from an EA82 wagon to fit on my Impreza. Drill two clearance holes for an 8mm metric bolt 1-3/16" back from the front lip and approximately 3/4" from either edge (approximate is just that, what's important is that the two new holes are exactly 13" apart). I took the two bolts at the rear and turned them around and bolted them in place pointing downward. Attach the modified sump guard at the rear with two 8mm nuts and at the front with two 8mm bolts. It doesn't do a thing to protect the exhaust pipes but will protect your oilpan moderately well. This might be useful to archive in the USRM.
  19. Hard to make out, but is this the Mt. Washington on Vancouver Island, BC?
  20. Odd, your Harbor Freight link takes me to the website of the Ministry of Commerce of the the People's Republic of China.
  21. Yes, they are very nice; great tires too. Thanks for letting me borrow them!
  22. You're right; superallyroo (Matt) is the 4th pic from the left in the top row. That'll teach me to read the headings.
  23. Speaking of hydraulic tensioners; they can be re-used. With a strong vise and patience you can squeeze it back together and hold it in place for the next belt service (I use a piece of coathanger wire). Just squeeze it slowly--it can't be rushed--and make sure your release wire is pulled upwards and not down.
  24. Finally some pics of the event. http://www.historicbrooklyntavern.com/images/RC06/index.htm Nice shots of #023 (qman), #044 (me:) ), and XSNRG in his white RX. What's a RallyCroser?
  25. Since your engine is non-interference, there wouldn't be any engine damage if the belt broke or slipped unexpectedly. However, the engine would stop suddenly; not a nice happening in the middle of rush hour traffic on I-5. You should be safe for a bit since it's likely you'll start getting CELs warning you that something is imminent. If you do push it to 120K, consider replacing the water pump since it's not likely to last much longer, let alone to the next belt change interval.
