  1. Wayne Flynn posted these this morning. http://www.pdxsports.com/go.asp?f=200506_RallyX
  2. You're right; after I posted it I remembered the quad headlights so it had to be later.....my bad.....sorry.
  3. 84soob and I had our '84 brats; qman and zap drove the red XT6 and zap's impreza; jrach drove his '96 Impreza. Craig had his early EA81 wagon.
  4. Results are usually posted at http://www.oregonrally.com/but don't hold your breath since the previous poster is correct on the timing of results posting. Lots of our group were there. Qman, Zap, 84soob, the Rallitech group, glcraiggt, edrach (and #3 son, jrach). Our group collected a number of trophies in various classes but I don't want to post that until I see the final results.
  5. Two rallycrosses in one weekend. Brooklyn, WA site was awesome and lots of fun; the ride out along 8 miles of fine gravel was worth the entry fee all by itself. ORG event on Sunday at Hillsboro, OR featured a fine course set up by Paul Eklund again. More news and results after I get some sleep and can get some verification from others; others are certainly welcome to post to this thread.
  6. Can you send me the file as an attachment at edrach@spamcop.net and I'll get some copies made. Thanks for the extra work in making this.
  7. I learned about the 4 transformers when I had DSL installed at my Woodinville home. I called Verizon On-line (the DSL company, not the 'phone company) to request more transformers since I didn't have enough for all the 'phones in the house with the basic install kit they sent out. When I asked what I do with so many phones, the DSL guy suggested running the dedicated line as the only way to make get around the 4 transformer limitation. After running the dedicated line I called Verizon (the 'phone company) to hook up the line at the outside box; they wanted to charge me $125 to come do that and I had to wait 10 days to get them to come out for a "non-emergency" call. Then I called Verizon (the DSL company) and explained I have a DSL line to hook up. They sent a guy to do it in 3 days and there was no charge since it came with the DSL installation that I had already paid for. So be careful who you call; the name may be the same but they are really separate companies (or at least they should be---but that's another long story). There's an excellent write-up on inside wiring at http://www.dslreports.com/faq/faq/8.%20Home%20wiring There's even a section on how to hook up the DSL at the outside box that I found last night, but can't find this morning. www.dslreports.com just has too much information.
  8. Interesting. I have basic cable with internet added. If I remember correctly, I'm paying $45/month for that. In addition I use Vonage VoIP for my telephone service for $25/month, so I'm spending about $70/month for everything. I used to pay Verizon about $65/month just for telephone service and another $30/month for the DSL. I figure I'm about $25/month cheaper this way.
  9. I'm with Junkie on this. If you haven't wired your home to best advantage for DSL you can be hurting yourself. Back in W'ville when I had DSL I pre-wired my modem outlet with a dedicated Cat5 line (Cat5e wasn't available then). If you use the existing house lines you are subject to every internal connection (as well as who knows what cable was used to make the connection in the first place) between the box outside and the final receptacle you use for your DSL modem. I just ran one continuous unbroken Cat5 cable back to the incoming 'phone box and left about 3 feet for the cable guy to use in connecting the DSL. If I remember correctly, you just need to hook up the blue and blue/wht wires to the receptacle (I found my directions on www.dslreports.com). The 2nd advantage to this is you don't need to use those silly little isolation transformers on every phone you have in the house. We had 7 separate phones in the old place; turns out you can't use more than 4 of those little transformers (according to the DSL guy) so having a dedicated line avoids this hassle as well as having the freedom to add/move telephones within your home as you see fit. I realize that I'm telling all this to a pretty sharp electrical engineer, but I can't help myself!
  10. I hate to break it to you, but you almost need to take out the entire dash. The passenger side is do-able but I don't know how to do the driver's side. I did both of the front speakers on the Brat when Turbone and I replaced the dash. My suggestion is to forget the dash speakers (they are tiny, 2 inches or less anyway) and mount new speakers in the front, lower portion of the doors and run new wires to them. Good luck with it.
  11. 390 is cast into the wheel rims and 390 follows the tire size on the tires. Beware the 390 rims; only Michelin makes those tires and they are expensive!
  12. Makes sense, but Truck/SUV is still running in the morning. I can find my way so no need for you to get up early.
  13. Unless they've changed the rules (or I mis-understand them for your class), wheels are "free" but rally tires might bump you into Open. Which car are you planning to run?
  14. I haven't seen the Brooklyn course, but you likely need to be more concerned about what tires are on your car as opposed to which rims. Pugs should be okay.
  15. Based on what I think I saw yesterday I'm thinking bad MAF or an injector that won't open up. Again, how can I check that the TPS is correct?
  16. I keep telling you to get gas at the Shell or 76 just down the road from my house; currently high test is $2.40/gal.
  17. Any possibility that there was ever a fwd brat?
  18. You can always come out and watch; even ride with some competitors; you can get close to the action by volunteering to shag cones and such.
  19. If there's a separate water temp sensor for the computer, where is it? I was surprised to see the engine continue to run at idle when we unplugged the MAF; makes me think the MAF is bad.
  20. Sales guys are usually dreaming and posted prices are often BS. Back when I was looking for an Impreza for my wife we went to look at a '93 in Portland on a dealer lot. It was advertised in autotrader for $5995 and I knew before we went looking at it that price was still too high for this year and model. When we arrived, the "sale" price posted in the window was $7995 (REDUCED from $8995!!). When I showed the salesguy the printed ad from autotrader, he didn't believe me and took it to his manager. While he was gone, we took a quick look at the car and it was not even worth the $5995 (shabby condition inside, a few minor dents in the body, and fairly high mileage). The salesman was insulted when we wouldn't even take it for a test drive because of the condition and exhorbitant price. He told us "these are in big demand and it'll sell in no time." Needless to say, we found a '97 Impz two weeks later with lower mileage and at $3995 price on another dealer lot. I suspect we bought our '97 well before that '93 ever sold.
  21. I only looked at one sparkplug and original O2 sensor...they were both quite white (too lazy to check the other three plugs). I saw no trace of oil on the #1 'plug. Starkiller can tell you when the pinging occurs (I haven't driven his car) but I suspect it is all the time. I believe starkiller has driven the car with the O2 sensor disconnected and I think it still pings then. I didn't look for another temp sensor; the one I found was on the intake manifold just above the #1 cylinder. What is proper way to adjust TPS?
