  1. That was the rallitek baja. Eric got to drive it as well as his own car. Way too cool. Check back on the photos for the pics of Ken's Brat next to the black Baja.
  2. Rob, More dominating than you thought----actually 6 Subes in the top 10! Including Ken's Brat.....good job Ken. I guess you're really hooked now! Eric, you did great in 5th in a box stock Impreza; too bad the announcer couldn't find the time to broadcast your time on any of your runs, but I could tell you were going fast...so smooth; great to watch. Funny how they couldn't spell your name right either. I bet you were running stock tires too; wouldn't that put you in PGT?
  3. So where are you located? If you're not local to Seattle I can mail you one for the price of mailing. My kids used to lose them all the time so I have lots of spares. See me an email if you still need one.
  4. Give Durango Boy a break. He's not really such a bad guy. He's currently running a Toyota all-trac. He didn't do well since the car's not really prepped for rallycross. Scott was up until the wee hours of the morning fixing some last minute problems on the car just to get it there and show up and run. He still needs to fix some obvious shortcomings with the suspension but he did manage to get his four runs in okay. I had a short chat with him yesterday and he was decidedly pleasant. He seems to have taken his new perspective as rallycross chairman seriously and I think the decisions that have come out about the rules situation of last year are correct. I was surprised to see how few people from Oregon showed up for the event; Scott was one of the three I saw there.
  5. Congradulations to Ken and Jeff--you smoked them today! Thanks Craig for pix of my Brat that actually look like I'm moving! It was a fun day today with a fast wide open course that favored horsepower if you could keep it under control. Thanks to Northwest Region for hosting it. Excellent job!
  6. 1.2 ohm or 1.4 ohm; shouldn't make a difference. As a matter of fact, the higher resistance coil would draw less current and hence be less likely to fail. And coil resistance has nothing to do with the oil dripping out of the unit; bad sealing more likely. I'd take it back to get a refund and then apply it to an MSD is that's your choice.
  7. Jeff, If you're running Production, you'll be running in the morning session. If you like, you can follow me down. I plan on leaving just before 6AM so I can help set up at 7AM. Give me a call if you're up to it.
  8. Spectating is free. You could even volunteer to work some of the corners and get closer to the action.
  9. I don't know if injecting grease will make it last longer, but it can't hurt. The wheel won't fall off unless the castle nut or lug nuts are loose. However, if the CV joint should split at highway speed the axle shaft could do significant damage to the car. I've heard of people going months without it breaking, but sooner or later it will. Used axles are cheap and easy to come by if you're near a pull a part wrecking yard (free practice on how to remove the axle too). Rebuilt axles sell for around $55 to $100 with a core charge. Try http://www.cvaxles.com for the $55 price and let them know you heard it here.
  10. Sounds about right. Tacoma will take about 2 hours and another hours to the rallycross from there is very generous.
  11. I'll be there but I plan on arriving at 7am to help set up. I'll be looking forward to the caravan.
  12. http://www.cvaxles.com is your best bet for a quality rebuild; $55 plus shipping (and refundable core charge). Otherwise you have seven Pull a Part type yards in the Portland area for a good selection of used axles.
  13. Check the past posts on lifter clatter--there's lots of fixes before you consider going into the engine. I'll see if I have an extra axle on my shelf, but don't count on it since I've been reducing inventory because we need to clean out the garage to sell the house. Your local pull a part yards have axles for about $25 each. You could do your friend a great favor to pull one and install it for them. Good luck.
  14. Justys can be very competitive in this sport. There are two guys running Justys that win their class between them almost every time.
  15. Here's the link: http://pub35.ezboard.com/foregonregionsccafrm16.showMessage?topicID=18.topic And more: http://pub35.ezboard.com/foregonregionsccafrm17.showMessage?topicID=10.topic
  16. Great date and great location for a whole number of reasons. I will be there, but the timing just missed my middle son's wedding (early August---in Bolivia!).
  17. I'm sure Erik's can get you Viton or Buna. Anyone out there have an original and can accurately measure ID, OD, and cross-section? I'm typing from work today so here's the scoop on Erik's: ERIKS West, Inc. Seattle, WA 206-243-9660 Anaheim, CA 714-826-2000 If anyone has the dimensions (or better yet an OEM--new--oring that I can use as a sample) I can get down there and see what they will cost as a group buy.
  18. GD, if you can make the EA82 mounts by next weekend, are you going to the NWR rallycross? Bring them along and I can pay you then. Otherwise, send me an address and I can snail mail a check to you and pick them up next time I'm in Portland. My email is edrach@spamcop.net.
  19. I wouldn't count on loaner helmets since this appears to be the first rallycross NWR is doing (I suspect with lots of help from ORG). Check their website and ask there; much more likely to get a reasonable answer.
  20. Place in Tukwila, WA called Erik's O-rings. You need to get the metric size. $25 minimum order but that'll get you about 30 of the the little buggers. I'm sure there'd be some on the Board looking for a decent price on these. I'll try to get more info on Erik's.
  21. Strange, if you run in the morning you will have to work the afternoon session. I would have thought if you run the afternoon you'd have to work the morning. Regardless, I'm getting there bright and early.
  22. GD, count me in for a set of those. Now I have an '84 Brat with an '88 5 speed tranny. I'm assuming the same will work with the other mounts. I'll pull a few sets of mounts for you so you have some extra to work with. I wonder if this would work on the sway bar mounts?
  23. It's posted at the link Subie Gal posted: All entries need to pass tech prior to going on course. Tech Times: 8:00 am (Production, Production GT, Group 2) 12:00 noon (Group 5, Open, Truck/SUV) Sessions: 9:00 AM (Production, Production GT, Group 2) 1:00 PM (Group 5, Open, Truck/SUV) The number of runs will depend on how many attend. We need all those entering to also work the course or other areas. If your group is selected to run in the morning you will need to work the afternoon schedule. Fun runs will happen depending on time finished and daylight available. Those staying for "fun runs" are to help clean up.
  24. I'll be there with the attack Brat. I think Eric will be coming also. I might even get my other kid to join in the fun.
  25. So how would be the best way to get there from the eastside (near Redmond)? Out I90 to SR18 south; or out 167 or 169? Local guys chime in please. Thanks.
