  1. And it would be even better if I remembered to spell acumulated correctly. :banghead: Tain't one of my better days.
  2. In cold weather especially you should charge your new battery before installing or they can FUBAR on you, I think the charge on most batteries sold these days is an acculated charge from sitting after the acid is put in but they need a good charge just to make sure. I worked at the NAPA store years ago and we always charged batteries we sold if at all possible and told customers to do it before installation if we couldn't. Most comebacks of new batteries were due to not charged, especially in cold weather. Never did figure out how to tell a pissed off customer that he should have listened to his instructions.
  3. You should try screwing around with the vacuum lines, mine had an engine/tranny swap out of a newer Justy and after reversing some and hooking up others I've got mine to idle nicely. I was about to take a big hammer to it because it was idleing at 4grand and I was not a happy camper. It's an 87 and had an 89 motor and trany put in it then driven half a block and parked for 10 years it now purr's like a kittycat and goes like a raped ape, ok a very small monkey but it's workin good. Good Luck Mudrat357:burnout:
  4. Just a hint, if you need a carb you better have a fat wallet. I was looking for one for my 87 Justy and they found a new one at the dealer for only $630:slobber: , needless to say I just about fainted then went and found one at a wrecking yard and they really jambed me, $25 and they pulled it FANTABULOUS. Good luck and have fun. Mudrat357
  5. You wanna get crazy and put a Justy motor in it I might be interested in selling mine, I have a 1987 Justy but the motor and two wheel drive tranny are out of a 91 or 92, I havn't been able to find a carb that will work with my 87 system. The guy I bought the car from told me the motor and tranny were taken out of a wrecked car with 28,000 miles on them then he drove the car 1/2 block and parked it in a garage for 10 years, when I got it the tires were rotted out but with an oil change and a wrecking yard carb I put 1 or 2 thousand miles on it till the carb electronics took a crap. I'm in Eugene, Oregon and if you make the right offer we can make a deal, if not I'll keep searching for a carb. Oh, I have put the original type carb on it and it kinda runs ok but every so often it just flat dies, not a good thing in traffic but the electronics may very well work properly on a 93 car where they just won't on an 87. Good luck anyway it goes Mudrat357
