Twisting the neck is to painless, there are better ways (as biochemist I know lots of nice chemicals and their function) (will not mention HF, oops I did) Someone poored paintremover gel over my car on the back, fixed it with hammerrite myself cause paintjob is more then the value of the car (and white is easy) but the whole side OMG.

Freaking people are so hopeless to get a few pennies from some metal OMG. I mean driving there to steal it costs more. Some bunch of idiots here stole some train track parts, its steel, not that much worth. Others stole a ancient bronze church bell from a 1300 and probably molt it. Those people deserve to be poured over with liquid steel . Good luck finding new parts.

OK maybe subaru should consider putting the 'problem' in the owners manual because it happens often. Poor guy going so far to take out the fuse. I've installed LEDs (because when parking outside residental area you need to use park lights if your pointing against the driving direction or if you are on the road) cause from time to time i have to leave them on all night.

Ha this car was sold in Japan when GM was still having some shares of Subaru. The car is actually the previous model Opel Zafira (Opel Astra based). This car has a normal 4cyl line engine and front wheel drive, nothing special. As with every Opel it is decent german quality but lacking some design flavour (i mean this model could have been nice designed). The new model is really nice. In the US it might get sold under Saturn like the Saturn Astra. Opel builts the cars (based on their platform) for Vauxhall UK, and Holden Australia. The successor of this car was released in 2006, and is a very good one. But not a subaru.

Here in holland and germany they (road services) are advertising to not avoid collision with animals. Ok we dont have moose but Deer and Roodeers ( other Roo species though) they are smaller. The problem is that usually half a meter from the road side there is a maze of trees. Its better to hit the animal than smack into the tree. Wild unfalle it is in German though but moving images always impress crashing the deer with 40 km/h http://www.adac.de/adactv/test_technik/Wildunfaelle.asp?ComponentID=214545&SourcePageID=214492 (there are also other cool movies, especially of minivans where the Renault passenger airbag fails, ah its French they never have been good car makers)

Maybe wheel bearings. On the 2wd simple to replace since its the whole hub (higher price though). I also had some grinding noise from the wheel which in the end turned out to be the leaking shock. If you think it is the brake then if you have rear discs (very unlikely) The brake shoe of the handbrake could be worn.

Holland just broke the record in Europe with fuel prices €1.66 per liter no worries its only 10.16 USD per US gallon. My driving style completely changed. Usually not going over 3k rpm coasting a lot for corners, looking ahead FAR ahead on what is going on. I have an automatic which is actually more efficient in upshifting in cities. Tire pressure is also high 40 PSI. I have no A/C and get about 28 to 31 mpg. Some politicians said that it would save lots of lives if all cars have their lights on during the day. But some stupids say it increases milage to much (government = stupid)

The top hose is always the return (as in most engines i think) The crack is in the top and the first 7 to 9 lines are dry. No water is sucked out from the overflowtank though. Until now i have drove 600 miles (of which 400 in 1 go) without any overheating or problems, just filled it up with water before i started driving.

Thanks for all the replies. I am usually not passing the 3k rpm so the waterpresure will not be extremely high. It is not that hot here only 22 celcius. When the cap is opened the presured water will go in the overflow tank i supose. I have never heard of JB weld, what does it do and how does it look like?

My radiator is leaking. unfortunately not cooling part itself but the passenger side plastic side of it from where the water goes into the cooling part. There is a crack in the plastic. Is there anyway i can fix this, by putting something (epoxy resin or similar) over it. I am going to replace it but being at least 1500 km from home i need a quick and simple fix. From tomorrow i will start driving a depresurized cooling system by opening the bypass ventil in the cap (is this bad??) Any onther hints are welcome (i need to drive abour 2000 km with it before i am home

Its goes so quick. Its bang and suddenly the hood is folded and cluster is lit up like christmass tree cause engine stalled. I only made it to a 14k euro damage (eek) on my dads car and he did not even went down in the insurance bonus. And since my HG is blown on my own subbie the advice was to make mine look like yours now but then not my fault.

Just had a look with a friend of my father going for a world trip (he owned a non-dealership garage for 40 years). Checked the engine by removing radiator cap (which was fine according to him) and then rev up the engine to 3k if the coolling water is running out from the radiator (loss of compression) than the head gasket is leak. And it was comming up slowly so its blown but advice was to drive it normally and keep water in there. And when possible make sure you get the priority at a roundabout (hope you know what that means).

Looks nice, But is holland really the only country where we just put the bikes on the back on the tow-hook?? Its so much easier not to have it put on the roof. What stuff is on the bike. Doing lot of mountain biking myself (and stop laughing that holland is a flat country ) Germany has nice areas although lots of forest from my house already. Did the Lake garda 601 (italy) couple of times on my Bulls 7005 hardtail. And now i got a Cannondale prophet so i want to go there again. btw that car is so nice looking (ok have the same without the gap in the hood

Sorry to hear, but not beyond repair. Damage is the biggest worry of each car owner (and insurance company). he didnt see it, well its quite camouflaged on the road though. Hope you will have it all sorted out soon, insurance is usually a horror to deal with. You were more lucky than a man yesterday here in holland. An minivan with an overloaded trailer (old american station car 2 tons orso), the trailer got sucked by the gust of a passing truck from oposite direction. The trailer went straight trough the car driving behind the truck. The car just looked like a opened can. The poor man did not make it.

The waterpump is a point. As far is i know it has never been replaced. Problem with the car is the hard regulations in holland. It runs great and also emmision tests (government) were always fine. But it has some rust on the inside wheel arch in the left back. So it might only be allowed for an other year or maybe 2. I have to fix it but have not time for it (and tools, but have friends though ). Was thinking of cleaning it out with a steel brush and then coat it with rustblocker which should help. I just dont want to spend much money on a 1000 euro value car The 200 ml i added was over a year time so not to much.
