Ben I hope it is fixaeble. Is the other head exhaust stiil okay? I hope it is not both sides. I have not had to deal with this, but after pulling quite a few motors, have witnessed how the head bolts are fragile. Well, hopefully we can get you fixed back up somehow. if you think it can be fixed, I am willing to drive up and give a hand, and provide tools bits etc. I hope another stud can thread them maybe pics would help. Is it all MIA in the head for the stud? chunked out? or just stripped. this is the downfall of aluminum. kinda like those darn plastic fasteners, one time use only and this is not cool

Complete shot in the dark

Might i suggest take that 70 dollars and buy a pair of good door speakers instead. Or you will just have tons of bass (maybe) and 1 blown door speaker and 1 other good door speaker. Might sound terrible. -

Outback tire to strut clearance advice wanted
bheinen74 replied to daredevil1166's topic in Off Road
tires from different brands/makes even of identical tire size are not identical in height and width example : my Baja Widetracks 205/75/15 are 27.7 inches tall whereas another 205/75/15 is only 26.6 inches tall. and someone else on here has lets say BF goodrich same 205/75/15 and their may be 27 exact....... get the idea, the miata tire calculator approximates, but it will never be 100% true. -
Ill buy the winner a beer....if your in CO.

ah, the RPM of a fan blower motor I've always wondered what they spin at. Pretty sure mice would rather they not spin. -

Tires dont flex really at the tops. They sure do on the ground level bottom. didn't we have another thread on this telling about the clearance of the strut perch. -
Your question is loaded, there is so much to determine if 8000 is a good value on a 2005 Baja. Factors to consider would be maintenance records, cleanliness accidents, title history, salvage history, car fax report, how new the tires are, if it has cracked window etc. If you have a picture, that can tell value a lot just by inspecting. Is it a Auto or 5spd. What options does it have, bed cover, rubber mats, compass mirror, etc.

how long do you think the 3at will take the horsepower of a EJ engine? popcorn
-
well, the 4eat's and the 5eat's are quite reliable these days (take the SVX one off the equation), so IF they can make the CVT the same in reliability terms, then we have a winner. Otherwise, if they build it to just get out of warranty, we will have a LOT of newer ones cheaply for sale as prime 5mt swap candidates.

I like the maintenance level of old glass lens headlights. not so much for the new tech stuff. who can come up with a new glass lense?
-
check very carful behind the lense for the bracket attaching it to the headlight bucket. they are NOTORIUS for having broken mounts, BEHIND the headlight lens. We had a really hard time finding used headlights for my brothers 99 outback. The tabs on top were broken on nearly all the junkyard ones, then my dad found one that had good top tabs, but after installing, figured out the back tabs were broken, which resulted in the headlight lens sitting back about 1.5" too far. They made the buckets poorly on these and to find good ones takes mucho time. Even a junkyard sold us a "good" one, that turned out broken tabs, not to mention almost all are pitted, and yellowed to unusable conditions. after looking at your pic, yes, the behind the bucket tabs on the headlight are fubar'd, the ones that hold the housing to the bucket.

87 GL Wagon PAINTED but Wont turn over :(

starters are not usually the same auto vs manual. one has to turn a flywheel, the other has to turn the torqueconverte so the way they engage is not same. did you try to jolt the starter with a end of hammer? -

are you going to convert the wheel to 4 lug bolt pattern, or are you converting your hub to the wheels pattern. Can be done either way.
