you really need to be smart with hoses, the factory made them short for a reason. cooling, as well as oiling is most important lifeline. sun UV will affect hose life too, so be aware of these facts, you are going to fail. Soon be pedal a flinstone machine.

When the car is first fired up or running at low speed, the rear motor propels the car. At higher speeds under normal conditions, internal combustion keeps the car moving. Stomp on the accelerator and the rear electric motor kicks in to provide extra oomph. Climb a hill and the front motor — which also kicks juice back to the battery — comes on to further enhance traction and acceleration. The slick Subie uses star/stop technology to cut off the engine when the car comes to a halt, reducing fuel consumption. basically, RWD with selectable FWD, AWD etc will be possible with switches , so we may have a FWD with lockable 4wd soon.

Shift linkage help needed after 4" lift
bheinen74 replied to gadberry's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
yeah, if you are having a hard time finding reverse etc at this point, disconnect the 4WD rod underneath the car, until the shifter can be redone. Mine, it took a cut the shifter extender rod off down near the curly Q bend above the bend. Reweld the rod back on just to the left with a little tilt. Then I made bracket to extend the 4wd lever that 15% or so The whole ting disconnects from the top of the tranny, but you need to figure out how to get it to all gears before you weld fix it. Basically, the shifter in stock form will hit along the 4wd shifter lever and will not be able to find reverse without mods. also, the throw has changed some and the shifter cannot get to 2nd, 4th, and reverse. You will get it, but it is not an easy to do thing. do not jsut try to bend the shift lever, it is hollow inside and will break eventually, it needs be cut above the curly q, rewelded off to the side. Find someone on here with a extra shift lever and that will help. good luck. -

Mark the top and bottom heater hoses with labels to identify "top" / "bottom". disconnect both heater hoses from the core pipes, reconnect in reverse order. check.. thats why i didnt have heat when my BRAT came to me. -
just the quarter panel left and reset the side airbag light. nearest subaru dealers are 65 miles away. Need to get the car past inspection before it can be driven. need to turn off light to pass inspection. If you have a tool i will pay shipping to and back, and pay a rental fee you agree.. thanks . brent

I am looking for information on resetting the airbag light after accident. They bought the car at auction as a rebuilder, it does have a salvage title due to this ?????not sure why it was salvaged really. damage was bolt on fixable execept quarter panel structure. This is for my parents rebuilder Legacy. The Side curtain Air bag is the one that went off. They have replaced the side curtain airbag with a good one. Both doors were replaced with correct colored doors, and they are now in the process of working on the quarter panel smash. Anyhow, has anyone on here had any experience in this. I am sure the dealer can reset the module, but is there a way to do it it yourself? Or is there a reset tool someone has that would let me borrow in order to do this. thanks
