  1. on the manifold. unbolt your carby, take off the mount plate for it, and you will see an inlet recess at the front. this needs to be JB welded shut, or tig welded.
  2. whats with the Walking Man Brewery....? looks like a BLAST
  3. sounds like my old garage in Denver. it was like 1 foot off the back alley street, with a 7' wide garage door. It was not very great parking the car or removing the car. The swing angle of the front bumper to the sides, and then the fact you had to turn so not to hit the neighbors fence or tree on the other side. I would think if you went to a single door would be better...
  4. i think this a great idea and this is what the USMB is all about, people helping people out. For someone in the down under area, to help ship and help people out is awesome. And remember, if you need stuff from North America, we could trade stuff back and forth, of course shipping cost is quite pricey but parts is what we need. This sort of dealings is a great way for everyone to get parts that normally we couldnt get ahold of. If you need stuff, we will help out too.
  5. strong cars have great sales numbers.Subaru is so far superior in many ways, safety crash tests, durability, and all weather wins. yays
  6. wish we got 95 BRATS here. would give my right leg and a lung for one.
  7. of those, the 92 with new front tires scares me, but if its only fwd, then not so scary, other than the fact you probably want AWD. If you want AWD that works, do not go for the 92 wagon. 1300 for a 18 year old car with only fwd is a bit high.
  8. Today's lesson on welding a gas tank will be dropped. No need to kill anything or someone.
  9. Subaru uses the snorkal box in the passenger fender well, where it pulls in outside air down low, lower air is cooler and more dense. Its in the fender well outside the engine bay. This is a FACTORY cold air intake (CAI) box, sitting before the air filter. if you remove it, you are going to lose the cold air, and introduce warmer engine compartment air. If you add a pre-oiled air filter, you will destory the sensing ability of the MAF sensor, it will clog the wires of it with fine particles of oil, which will attract dirt, and cause less airflow. Please, do not change anything.
  10. to the parts gurus on here. Can someone give me the part number for a 05+ key that has the built in fob, and approximate cost if i go thru the discount dealers we use on here. I would also like details on what needs done besides providing the VIN to the retailer to get the cut done, and how to program it if needed. thanks, this is for my parents who just got thier first ever Subaru and will be needing a spare since the car only comes with a single key....I assume they have to wait til their ownership records hit the dbase before someone an cut the key, that is fine, how long might this take.
  11. 99.9% of aftermarket intakes for Subarus DECREASE flow. these are not Hondas, Mitsu's, Mustangs, etc. Please research this more. Add some AEM stickers, it will help about the same. If you want more power, use premium name brands of Gas everytime, and put some new NGK spark plugs in, new OEM plug wires, and a oem filter.
  12. Yes, High pressure line is capped with you guessed it H Low pressure line capped with you guessed it. orings are at the compressor fittings, as well as at the condensor inlets/outlet tubes, and etc....
  13. well most early ej22 are on the road for 350k without much issues the ej25 start showing problems at 100k... I would rather take a ej22 with 220 on it than a ej25 with 90k
  14. from front bumper of car looking to engine. AC condensor is behind the grill, forward from the Radiator AC compressor is to the right of the Alternator and has a belt AC Drier is over by the right shock mount inside to the frame rail above the axle AC on off switch on the climate hvac panel in the cabin.
  15. ^ cool that is my plans for my parts Brat.......yay something to use for a plan.
  16. this kinda reminds me, I should check my parts BRAT and make sure the floor drains (rust holes) drained any water that got in it. Mind you, there are no window/door seals on that one since i sold the seals.
  17. something happened to my BRAT on last thursday with the 5inches of rain we had. Behind the passenger seat it got soaked. My slider was closed. up by the fun tops it was dry, around the door was dry, but the stinch of a soaked rear floor was bad. Never had a problem til 5inches of monsoon. I will watch this thread to see what you are asking.
  18. there are plenty of good ea81 motors out there, all over really. Sometimes they come with a car. I can get you a less than 100k miles long block for 135 at pick n pull. Lots of ea81 cars in the for sale craigslist etc for 500...... get the car, and use the motor. Sell the parts, and make money. hope i make a point.
  19. any 2.5 engine is a downgrade to your superior ej22. now, heads, etc from the RS are superior heads, but not the block pistons, bearings, etc. The ej22 block was pressure die cast formed. the ej25 block was not, it was sandcast. not the better way..
  20. reason for no sealant would be could you imagine trying to remove one and keep it intact if it did have goo on it.
  21. since we are justy2less here, post up some pics so we know what we missed out on.
