oem starter lasts about 10-15 yrs (170k miles avg) on my experience with subarus. parts store reman lasts about 1-2 years, and comes with lifetime warranty. Who cares about a lifetime warranty if it only lasts 1-2 years. I know i dont want a starter going out on my in middle of nowhere Iowa in the winter time in a blizzard. Go get a starter from Subaru OEM rebuilt, or find a OEM one on a junkyard car with less than 125k miles.

and the rool pin removal replacement via a bolt, the bolt head, or the nut can hit the tranny case as said when it is motioning to go to reverse. Might need to grind off the head etc of the bolt now.

No skidplate to protect the ole Oil pan? with all the money spent on this, I would think that would be a must. -

rescue wagon back door handle looks same I might remove it tomorrow after work when its still light out. I will still need a good one. too bad none of the public junkyards around here have EA81 era. Maybe Dennis can get one from his private collection if Russ doesnt come thru. there is one on ebay but it shows the passenger side and its listed as drivers side. says its actual picture. unamused at that. -
chromed pot metal just broke on my Driver side outside handle on the Brat. My parts brat one is not in best shape, in fact its cracked on the outside so i would imagine the part that holds the linkage is on way out too. anybody got a good one?
-
yeah thats it. My Brat had that exact connector, but every switch i have comes across since then has single prong round connectors. I have retained my connector but have had to splice all the other switches to my connector.

Another car i might buy.-XT-6

If this car has air suspension still, meaning it has not been converted over to struts, then you will want to consider the conversion. Its one of the "must have done" things on this car, air struts go bad and are pricey to fix, conversion is cheaper. "Anyone else in utah that wants this one go get her!" I am not in Utah, but thinking of getting it..... -
I just finally got my switch mounted back up today. The switch that came with the BRAT was brittle and broken. then after the lift kit, i ended up breaking the spare switch i got from Mick due to it hitting the bump stop too hard due to the change with the lift kit. today i used hacksaw, grinder, etc and got my linkage all sorted out so it is not forcefully hitting the switch and killing it. No pictures, as my camera is MIA. I think i know what you are talking about. the switch either breaks on the back side, or else the mount tabs break.

did you get the clutch bits, flywheel? how was the clutch... -
The top-mounted intercooler is larger by 25-percent and the turbo placement is now under the car, resulting in more power, sooner than ever. The stock performance is noticeably better off the line and the trick puts the Subaru turbo more in line with the very likable VW 2.0 turbo’s performance curve. not sure what to think. it is now comparable with a 2.0 vw:eek: an this is a 2.5? how do i fit a ej22t into this?

kinda looks like Guinness in there. good luck drying out. i think more drain plugs are needed.

mine is starting to flake, peel, off the muffler in spots now after 2 years. also, the POR-15 on my wheel well arch of the quarter panel is starting to peel off. it had no chance to stick on my rust free BRAT. i never used the pre treater stuff. just cleaned it with a hose to get the dust off. Most places though it has stuck on well. I think i will followup treat next year (year 3 ). when you say cut, do you mean to get off your skin? takes about 2 weeks....lol

Was still there 2 weeks ago, all but the 4wd knob Look for a green outback hood for me Btw that knob is in my box of goodies Ben said the shifter was sloppy. Good luck hope it dodnt rain much -
I think with gas prices edging higher, going bigger is, well, the BIG mistake on SOA part. Smaller is smarter. I agree, and no Wagon, just Outback only, and ugly at that. What happened to the nice looking stuff around 2005? Went down somewhere. If I want a Camry, I will just buy a Camry. NOT good styling. I hate the way manufacturers go bigger and bigger, I want small car.
