  1. could very well be mismatched drive ratio of the tranny vs the rear diff....... 3 times is very excessive, but mileage on the car not stated. 3 times in 300,000 maybe. 3 times in 150,00 not normalcy
  2. my guess is mismatched tires. this in not a normal item to go out 3 times. If you aren't aware, if you have to replace a SINGLE tire, then you have to replace them ALL, with same make brand etc ALL at the identical time. My assumption is that the tires are not matched. My assumptions can be wrong tho. It could be improper maintenance upkeep on tire pressures, which will do the same as mismatched tires.
  3. Peugeot wheels. from the junkyard or on the http://www.505turbo.com/forum/index.php?showforum=15 site. otherwise you can re drill wheels from a Toyota, chey luv, nissan etc
  4. clean off your fan blades, mine had the muck on the blades still
  5. i think i might take the car to a subaru delaer to show them whats up, they might take a case and if there are others, then maybe a recall is needed. They will want to see this as for a safety issue. I bet they might fix it for free and such, since it a safety issue and this is not supposed to happen ah the wear and tear of a postal delivery car, yeah 650 stop a day, that will take its toll. RHD is cool but whatever, be safe
  6. agreed that was like a concrete mix. Now I know why SubieMech85 has a power washer at his home, bet his came right off. I got rocks sitting on the top side of my skiplate, and the crossmember and the Tranny case. Think that is the most muck my Brat could hold. Even the fan blades had muck on them
  7. why not just pull the rear diff, rear axles, and rear output driveshaft to the rear and be done.
  8. reason. people are looking for the extra 1, 1.5, or 2 hp -which is a big jump for a BRAT Gen1, or gen 2
  9. this is also common to the 91-94 legacy wagons.....my old former turbo wagon had the won't go back to rest spot syndrome as well.
  10. i am on I-80 in iowa between Des Moines and Iowa city, 1/4 mile from the exit, i am not a Loyale person though......i hear they are optionless
  11. that is the Guido option. oh, and put a llama in your life.
  12. oh, i guess my brother grab the 4wd lever knob off that car.....it is on my desk.....and he is the one who put a sign in my parts Brat saying "unsafe for use" i thought it was the city. so after i found the tag after work i began stripping the thing for fear the city was getting ready to tow it off.......he is not very funny right now.
  13. http://s405.photobucket.com/albums/pp132/bheinen74/Subie%20Campout09/ my stuff. working on youtube stuff
  14. i have not had time to download my picts. Ben that is great proof that we were not racing. lol
  15. oh yeah, or better yet, put a llama in your BRAT hee hee heee:banana:
  16. and for anybodies car to burn up like this is so terrible. I consider the loss as bad as if a home was burned etc. totally destroyed and glad you are safe.
  17. when its off the manual mode, it is in standard mode, but if you press the gas rapidly hard and fast, the TPS sensor determines needing extra umph, and the tranmission TCU shifts it to a higher shift mapping, thus firmer quicker shifts, in power mode, and the power mode light will come on while in this mapping.
  18. hey its sunny here now. nice day, at this time. so who is going to search for some greasy roads. mr Rhodes maybe that would be fitting. Also, I know of some pretty cool place near madrid out on gravel if we dare go that far.
  19. yeah fire extinguishers are really cheap in comparison....older cars are more prown to wiring problems and i carry a extingui after seeing a Brat burn up close to me.
