  1. isnt the condensor in front of the radiator and the evaporator in by the blower motor under the dash and the drier is along the shock tower, with the compressor on top side of engine next to alternator why do all these accessories end with "or" radiator evaporator condensor compressor alternator Eeor meteor band head more
  2. pretty sure it will be too deep, the back end will have the power wires and socket for the antenna. Where is the speaker for it, front side or back and the knobs stick out, no more first gear, 3rd, and 5th. i dunno though. my cb came with weather band channels, http://www.amazon.com/Cobra-19-40-Channel-Compact-Radio/dp/B00083KUVS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1243544605&sr=8-2 Product Dimensions: 1.8 x 4.5 x 7 inches ; 3.6 pounds i bought this one http://www.amazon.com/Cobra-18-WX-ST-II/dp/B00005N5WU/ref=pd_cp_e_3?pf_rd_p=413863501&pf_rd_s=center-41&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B00083KUVS&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=17F2HS3QXHR325S577EK#moreAboutThisProduct so far, i need to tune it to see if it even works lol Now that i am reading the reviews, it might just be another paper weight noise box. if not, I will sell it to you Ben.

  4. i hauled a sectional sofa on mine last night. the corner piece was half way out the tailgate too. sorry, no pics.
  5. This thread has "you might be a subaru nut when" all over it. example dreaming of subaru stuff, living in a shed.........because of parts you are prepping, and using kitchen stuff on your car (recipe cards)......ah.
  6. "I had a bad dream about last week that I screwed up my wheels. In the dream I had forgot to primer them. "
  7. no pictures in primer, could mean no primer. I see the cans of primer though. jk. yeah the primer photo is there. just a bad dream
  8. I think putting money into a header is going to be a waste of your money in no time. Most of the aftermarket ones are inferior and crack, even the high priced ones, eventually crack. your money would be better spent on a cam regrind, and some mild polish porting on the intakes and heads. bigger midpipe and axle back also will help. not much gains to be had on the headers, which subaru designed to last and work.
  9. ah, great guy use of recipe cards you cooked up some nice painting.
  10. check out the grounds. the newer Brats have a ground strap goes from radiator, looped over to the front where the hood closes down on the hood prop near the paint code sticker..
  11. out of my over 20 years of driving, and my Dad was a mechanic for GM for 40 years, these things are a waste of money really. Just good, solid regular maintenance and your car is good to go. Change oil every 3000 and filter. use good gas, and keep tires rotated etc... others will give reasons to disagree, but yeah, these are a joke. A old fashion compression check can tell you more info on the condition of things.
  12. dont buy for a hatch, have them look up 84 4WD, either brat or GL wagon. that year, with EA81 if that is what engine you have. simple, forget about have them look up stuff for "hatch"
  13. your hose could be kinked, or it could be blocked, gummed up with old gas that has varnished. hope for a kinked line.
  14. 85 Brat bought with 118,800 now 122,xxx SVX bought with 79800, now about 82,xxx rescue wagon 149,xxx now 152,xxx or there abouts
  15. speaking of vin verification, the only i times i had to pay for them was in Colorado, and it cost like 20 bucks a vehicle, and the person doing it doesnt even do it throughly. I can do a better job of vin verification than the bozos we pay to do it. they typically would check it on the window plate only. or else that and the door jamb. Not ONCE did they cross check it to the firewall.
  16. The only people I hear of that usually have engine problems are those that take their car to discount shops to get oil change, where they use FRAM. My RULE OF LAW: 1. I change my own oil, never take it to a shop 2. Use oem or Nippon or puralator filter, 99.5% i use oem, oem has the anti drain back valve, and the low pressure check valve. 3. Castrol GTX regular oil in 10w-30 weight for subaru., my honda gets 5w-30 , changed every 2500-3000 depends on if i am on a trip or not if i hit the 3g mark.
  17. Just talked to Ben, the spare 5th Pug he is willing to let you have the dibs on the extra. PM me and we can discuss pricing.
  18. lets talk about that at the campout. It will be cheap, but I am not sure whether it really needs rebuilt or not. It smoked some, but seemed to have pretty good road driveability and didnt smoke on the highway. and the oil was not low after the 65 mile drive, so i will talk about. Its still in the car now. just started it the other day.
  19. hope you can make it with my bumper. and for anyone else, there will be extra space at the campsites for those who did not get to reserve a spot. my tent is small, the brat is small, and there is lots extra space i have been to ledges before. dont think the park ranger will care either
  20. my driveway is gaining yet another Subaru this coming week my brother just got a reduilder outback and i am going to help him fix it. i just found 2 svx's for a good price and the turbo Brat I am trying to get... good weekend doh
