  1. "left the vac adv hooked up to the intake mani. I have zero problems with it this way and I am a firm believer in "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". But curiosity leads me to pose this question... Should I hook it up to the intake mani instead" Not sure what your question mean. you left it hooked to the intake mani, but then you ask if you should hook it up there again instead?
  2. yep. thats it. So i got to thinking, the reason mine was unhooked is a few reasons most likely. One, the arm lever for the light cover was nocked loose, and the center lamp switch was broken at the back, so it probably got stuck being on at some point, and they just unhooked it. I bet mine works. Yay. got my fingers crossed. Any how, when i hook mine up, i was thinking about using all the stock components, plus a Hella relay i have so the 100 watt light will be extra bright? thoughts.
  3. pretty sure i found the factory relay. I will post up pictures tonight. the only part of the wiring i still need to pull is from the small connector out the relay from under the engine compartment, going to the cab to the center lamp switch. Everything else ii have pulled out.
  4. yay, i found the relay in my 82 Brat parts donor.
  5. as of now the Brat. I did find the top radiator hose has been rubbing the snorkus of the hitachi carb inlet, so i have to swap out the hose for a long trip like this for fear of it totally rubbing thru. I am going to have Weber located, but it wont be here in time to install, so this will be the last trip in it with the hitachi crap, i mean carb. Hopefully this weekend I will get some time to install the cyclops and wire it up. I pulled it out of the parts Brat, got the switch pulled, now i need to find the rest of the wiring and relay wherever it might be hiding in the parts Brat. Hopefully i dont have to WOFC. Also, I am bringing the 5 pugs for you Ben. Hopefully 76point is coming with front bumper for me. Mick, remember the Subaru stickers in white. I am sure I am forgetting something. cheers
  6. just got my CB installed, found out it doesn't have SWR meter built in like i thought. ?does anyone have a swr meter they could bring to this so i can borrow and tune this sucker? thanks
  7. so this is the kind of place that all the extra unsold GM, Chrysler trucks will end up. Nothing else they are good for, so might as well take some new ones there and sink them. cant wait for the videos, they will still have dealer plates on them and when they get stuck, just leave it there, go get another. I would dare take a nice subaru here, but a beater with welded diff would be fun just to show these guys something or too.
  8. i am watching th bottom 6:33 video now, he is hosed.
  9. i wish the old links worked. I am looking for wiring info on the cyclops.
  10. bumping the dead. I am going to tackle mine this weekend, but would like some wiring info as the one Mick posted is I would rather just hook it up to my Hella relay and have it separate from the factory wiring. I mean it is a 100 watt light, so a relay would be nice for it. anybody have wiring info?
  11. more info. what is the model of Weber. 32/36 38/38 etc.
  12. If you need something and they ship only to USA, then someone on here could then forward ship it to you out of the states. I am willing to lend a hand on this sort of thing.
  13. seeing my parts Brat rust here, and a few others, I think i will try to find the cause of this particular area, and find out a way to keep my good Brat from doing this. the way I am thinking, its either poor drainage out the drain holes there so water cannot drain out, or too ease of access of salt getting in there to begin with. If there is a way to prevent on my BRAT, it will be worth my time, same as I did with the rear shock mounts sealing off the place. If its poor drainage, then i will drill some more holes in it and then rustproof it. If its due to too many holes, then i will block them top side. This kind of rust like on Bens, is in the stage 1 moving along to stage 2 of rust. Not to stage 2 yet really. stage 3 is fatal. Ben, get on this and clean it up, and if you know of a great welder, could weld up some plate steel there to get it boxed back in, while there is still solid metal to weld into. That will be the best way to handle it especially before the metal starts disappearing. brent
  14. http://s405.photobucket.com/albums/pp132/bheinen74/82brat%20pics/?action=view&current=IMGA4008.jpg http://s405.photobucket.com/albums/pp132/bheinen74/82brat%20pics/?action=view&current=IMGA4006.jpg could be worse, that whole part of mine is MIA. nothing left of it. no shape of the structure.
  15. big log chain, find a tree, really big tree, tie around tree, wrap around bumper, floor it......hang on tight. or zzzzzzzzz or.....removed one from a Brat and a Legacy, loyales arent in my brain of super powers if its like the ea81, there will be a bracket on each side, with a couple bolts into the frame rails. Also, there will be a hidden side nut for the bumper to fender on the edge. dont forget to unplug the marker light sockets.
  16. cool, wonder how one could be shipped? do they also trim the yard of weeds and grass?
  17. I dont have one. got pieces of a hornet, thats all. I will bring my Stompers.
  18. I am parting a 82 Gl Brat if you need wiring.bad luck. depends what wiring you need, mine might not be much better but I will sure look for you when that time comes.
  19. but how did the gear lube taste way to bring this car back to presentable.
  20. if it spins that freely, check for flexplate broken. Have someone crank it and see if the front pulley is even turning? If while cranking the front pully is stil, then it could be broken flexplate, assuming a automatic tanny.
  21. good question, but bring bail money like Mick says.
  22. last i remember, there a bbq grill set up at every site there. I think mick has the site reserved where i hung out with some friends last year, there will probably be a nice spot without grass where my friend hurled up a whole sack of potatoe chips/budlight was really nasty.
  23. ben here they are http://s405.photobucket.com/albums/pp132/bheinen74/pugs/
