  1. D/R is dual range, high and low, 4wd there was a 4spd D/R and a 5spd D/R. in EA81 and EA82 cars S/R single range, 4wd, mostly the EA71 cars LSD.....limited slip differential, referring to rear diff. or a drug used by hippies in the 60's doj double offset joint, as in CV axles, constant velocity axle. etc etc.
  2. its fine, just don't turn on the AC. It would not hurt anything as long as the compressor is not asked to be on.
  3. alternator must not be grounded correctly if it draws when you plug it in.
  4. are you absolutely sure the battery is good. with everything disconnected to the battery, put your multimeter on the battery and check voltage, hold the multimeter leads to the battery for like 5 minutes continuous watching voltage, it should stay at the 12.x and not drop ANY with just a multimeter on it. A multimeter does not draw enough current to take the voltage down. if you see voltage drop, the battery is BAD, not able to hold a charge.
  5. want to go have vacation to do this have money to do this ...but have 2 dogs, and don't have a dog sitter for the time involved to get there and back dogs are 52 and 94 pounds too much to deal with for the miles involved will have to find a way... plus, anybody to caravan there with? unlikely? long way to go it alone.
  6. interested to see pictures. there was some NOS heads on ebay might still be there now. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Subaru-EA71-heads-NOS-with-new-valves_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33617QQihZ011QQitemZ320363677651QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW for new nos heads........
  7. i had the fog lights wired into the left front turn signal housing (gettng power off the driving light portion). unscrew the mount screw, carefully pull the turn signal housing to the front of car to remove, and undo the wire nut that goes to the foglights wires, rewire back the factory wire without the foglight wire. I bet something is grounded/shorted thats probably it. Be ** very carefully removing the lens housing, they are fragile. I have repaired the top mount tab, but there is a slide tab on bottom portion to be careful too..... good luck sorry. also, if this is not it, check the sidelight in the fender......between tire and door
  8. i cannot believe the crappy adapter plate on a 319 dollar kit. bad bad and on top of that, the crappy gasket too.
  9. take them back. Let this thread be stickied so no one else has to go thru the same type of thing. 390 mm pugs are worthless.
  10. looks nice. only 2 enkies tho, the right side has a steelie and not sure on the front right.

  12. maybe a gray wrx please help us help you with vehicle info
  13. but if he finds the 2.5 has bad pistons etc after trying a new t belt, then his 2.5 new belt would not work on a 2.2 which he would ponder to replace with. so he would have to let the 2.5 new belt kit sit with a bad 2.5 block. not sure here.
  14. Mick, you NEED to put on the spfi and sell me the Weber. please.
  15. alarms are the biggest scam there is, at least that is my stance. well sort of. kinda like bike locks, but not. someone can steal a bike without a lock a lot easier than the one next to it that is locked. But, even with the lock, there are bolt cutters. I still don't get it why someone activates an alarm on their car to walk to the ATM and back. There shoud be a sensitivity adjuster on the alarm brain, if you want to even mess with it.
