  1. must be rough on the west coast again. how can you guys get so luck.
  2. Anyone think of the alternator voltage regulators compatibility? the internal regulator vs external regulators?
  3. are you seeing ANY arching when you attach the last post onto the battery, any little static or arc, crackly or pop?
  4. Is that a mud tire? or is it mud with tire. looks fun except pink socks. Now, go take some snow pics
  5. Ben. what would you drive in the winter then, you need 4wd in iowa.
  6. was just thinking. I hate despise lube shops, have never and will never use one, but my thought is, they are supposed to change oil and top off all fluids. Wonder if they ever check the rear diff on subies? that would be considered all fluids bet not. one could probably empty the diff oil in a beater soob, take in for oil change, and then theoretically, after no diff oil got added and burned up the transmission go back on them and make them buy you a new one.....since they are contracted to check and fill as needed all fluids... evil
  7. yeah. looks kinda like a cigarette sticking in it, or joint? factory ashtray for a BRAT back jumpseat?
  8. What is the box on the side of the bed trim, driver side right over the chrome strip? ashtray? cupholder? factory items?
  9. this pic proves you can drink beer in the back of a BRAT. whether doing so is legal, is debatable
  10. My first thoughts are possibly the IAC sticky/dirty, or a coolant temp sensor, or a vaccuum leak, or the tps
  11. I know the VF11 is the turbo from the ej22t of 91-94 legacy. wish i knew more.
  12. That picture, is probably why they stopped putting seats in the BRAT in 1986. When was duct tape invented Why is the gas door duct taped?
  13. something has to be wired to Hot, positive terminal all the time when it shouldn't be. Could be radio, guages, lights, anything. Whatever it is, needs to be wired to switched power/ignition on power, not the hot all the time.
  14. It would be legal while the car is driving on a pasture, ie not on a highway or road, but on private land.
  15. I would imagine this would be the same process as fitting one to the EG33 in a SVX that is getting lifted:banana:
  16. hmm/ maybe i need to borrow a welded diff to put in the rescue wagon. still long ways off.
  17. hmm, long ways/lots of $$$ to have to tow back home if something breaks. http://www.timberridgeiowa.com/4WHEEL.html
  18. the whole issue here could be "torque bind" as in the transmission clutches for rear wheel engagement. How many miles on the car? might not even be steering related except for when turning tight circles which is torque bind not in the rack or pump.
  19. i dunno, the rescued wagon was a trip out with my other car, gas, and distributor, and then I had to send some money to him for the title, followed by painful registration, etc. Next, the silver bomber 95 legacy wagon l bought it for 200 with rod knock, attempted to drive it home, blew a hole in the top of block on way home, sold it for 700 and a good ej22 went with it, which i paid 100 for at the JY
  20. if you bumped it hard enough to trip a knock sensor, that could shut your car off....
  21. wow, thats is the stealership of them all. they must have better things to do and just not want to work on your older car. I would call up Jason and get the parts from him at Auburn Subaru/Mike Scharff, since your dealer will probably gouge you just on the part the way they seem so far. Get the part, and attempt it on your own. Otherwise, this repair can be done by an average shade tree mechanic, or pet monkey.
