  1. Your BRAT looks really solid, clean, good one to start on and make sure you do right. Where are you from>
  2. hopefully some more people with cams that day will be posting. there were probably about 30 entries of vehicles by guess. I think besides Subiemech85, there were maybe 4 or 5 others with cameras.
  3. stream crossing all are image provided by Subiemech85
  4. i tried to pull a s10 blazer out that got stuck right in front of me. no go, not enough HP...... my mpg was still about 35mpg used no oil, used no coolant vibration in the steering wheel on I-80 back home, from mud in the wagon wheels, priceless.
  5. i made it home to check dogs, at the Pour House now waiting on pics. yeah woo hooo good time better than sleeping in and getting nothing done. Dennis, your BRAT did terrific, as a Subaru should..:banana::banana:
  6. I am back home Dennis load some pics or maybe search mudcoast iowa on google for pics there were lots of footage. Left my camera at home forgot. I had to pull dennis out in a place off the road where like 6 got stuck Then dnr came Fun fun fun Car turned over the 150,000 mark

  8. yes Lots of Salt, and they even mixed some garlic in this year from the Tones spice plant.
  9. lunch time power shopping for Mudcoast rally done. 1 squeegee with scrubber 1 5qt jug castrol 10W-30 1 gallon distilled water (i have antifreeze at home) 4 pack of ratcheting straps 10foot each for strapping spares to roof rack coffee for the AM forgot the pink flamingo for the cargo rack, so i stopped at dollar store and picked up twin rally mascot stuffed things (1 for dennis, one for me) should be ready set go
  10. broken pinch bolt, and also a seized axle shaft to the hub, meant for me after 2 hours of drilling the old bolt out, only to realize the axle was seized, using a big press even, meant a waste of half a day just to disassemble, only to have to go to junkyard and get used axle and hub the next day.
  11. Spare alternator/water pump BELT.
  12. also, make sure the heat control selector control is set to the hottest setting when filling antifreeze, or when burping. Legacy's, I find it best to jack up the front of the car pretty high so the nose s up when burping.
  13. my Panasonic 4 in one cam can take over 3 hours of video..... and it does pictures, video, mp3 or just audio. like will hold over 10,000 pics on my 512 card. I will try to rig up a mount stand for dash cam but i think dennis should go ahead of me so i can get shots of his BRAT. I put the USMB sticker from McBrat onto the rescue wagon last night. Uh, Dude.....
  14. I am not sure how to make a poll: but this thread post : If you use your hill holder, and how much your hill holder is broke why do we need this what is the hill holder I use my hill holder alot and love it
  15. 83 GL Rescue Wagon-just changed oil getting ready for the Mudcoast rally in Iowa this Saturday. while my oil was draining, decided to see about getting the hlll holder to work. Looked down, and both ends of the cable for the hill holder are broken. Hmmm, just so happens i pulled a good cable in the junkyard a year or so ago, and it was still a spare. Put it in, and go by feel on tension. Screw on oil filter, put in drain plug, fill oil. Start, check for leaks, go for drive down the street, find first hill. YAY. Hill holder works. Wanted to get the rear window wiper working, checked nut, loose, tighten, it works now too. ready for some mud. so glad we are into the 55 temp range when i get home from work. nice to be able to make progress.
  16. this should cause termoil in the road rew department road maintenance crew.
  17. Even with having in possession 4 or 5 subarus at any one given time, I don't need one of these. Heck, this is a drain and fill once for the life of the car in my book, not quite like a 2500/3000 mile oil change interval.
  18. I filled it out anyway, to show Subaru there is interest in diesel boxer in the "other overseas" countries. if they get enough of us from the US filling in this and being interested, they will at least bring up that in their staff meetings for marketing department.
  19. I will be changing my oil tomorrow night after work, and getting the spare tires all ready and secured. Might try to adjust the Hill Holder as well, now i got my BRATS working that will be very useful.
  20. meet at the Iowa State Fairgrounds east of Des Moines. Saturday April 4. 8:30AM breakfast, 10:30AM departure. Awards at 6PM at Skybox lounge. I can take a rider, in the rescue wagon. Dennis will take his BRAT and Ben takes Guido. fun stuff.

  22. I am not sure your location, but I have had bad time with the car I got from Minnesota. The pinch bolts, were essentially "welded" in place to do the rust, and even a torch could not get it.
