I saw that squarish piece too before you posted and thought the same. It looks as if it could be the end of a punch, or end of a tool, squarish and twisted/smashed.

that won't buff right out

Older Generation Becoming Historic?
bheinen74 replied to Loyale 2.7 Turbo's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
i hope they don't add the window frames to the doors. The way they build the chassis now, all the rigidity, and safety structure is in the body. It saves weight from the door, and makes the car more safe. It is why the cars are so dang strong and safe...wind noise is really the only downfall, but the saftey factor outweighs the noise problem.- 70 replies

doubtful. tribeca is sort of like the STi and SVX and, Justy is to Subaru. Tribeca, shares same wheel lug pattern as the SVX and 05-09 STi, but other parts are not really Legacy derived. Its Subarus little weirdness they always do every so often, similar to the justy, the svx, and well, the tribeca. what makes them a subaru.

is there an easy way to replace antenna wire?
bheinen74 replied to s'ko's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
depends where one is in the world. In French, Quebec CN, they don't weld exhaust pipes, they Soldern them.. But in the USA, its welding exhaust pipes and welding body panels on. Soldering electronics and wiring. weird -

Solder, not weld. Weld is for thick metal, Soldering is for electronics. my first shot at soldering was when i was like 3 years old and my Stomper light went out. Dad took me to Radio Shack, and we picked out a light bulb to fix it. went home, and he handed me the soldering gun....my old stompers, i wish i had them all.....now, i collect subarus. -
sorry. that is not good. I am curious how the Subaru held up to a hit by a new car? did it fare better then the damage the lady did to her new car. Sounds like the classic example of most new car drivers, they dont know how big the car is, and no bumpers these days can go without damage, unlike old cheap cars.

i think it looks great, car too.

sockets could be mostly a generic item, like most any other car that uses that same bulb, might work. temp fix would be wire nutting a spliced socket robbed of a junkyard car, any car that uses same bulb. good luck

thats kinda like the guy who torqued the head gaskets Hella Tight....... you sir, should take those plugs out and put NGK in. When, and i know you will, have a problem with something, i will try and remember to give the same advice then. No way, if you care about your car even in the very least bit, would you dare put champion plugs in there. RANt done ps, your justification of they were 10.00 cheaper per plug than NGK is false. Oreilly, Autozone, etc, NGK price is 1.53 per plug range to 2.12 per plug....I don't believe anything you have said for reason.

Trying Again.. New Motor In LB the Coupe

keep us updated. Hey connie, is that rust up under the front hoop lip? I see a pic with hood wide open, swear it looks like something needing attention later. Glad yours is running (my Brat needs clutch still), so yours is running more than mine recently. keep you eye on things, and such, hope this one will last many years. Its a good feeling when you can go out and enjoy a drive in a machine from the early 80's, and know most of the work to keep it going can be done out of house garage. yay. -
seized up ea71....Why did it happen?
bheinen74 replied to the sucker king's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
would be easy to check radiator antifreeze level. if it still full of antifreeze, then you know the coolant is not in the pistons... my dad's old Audi blew up at interstate speed, pulled the plugs, and one of the plug ends was SMASHED....by the piston when it let go......that was a fun vacation. think that was the audi he ended up ptting a mazda rotary engine in...fun car while it lasted. -
best way to keep road salt off, is to burn the clutch up and park it til it gets warm....thats what i did.
