  1. an 83 brat mut gl10 my dash brightness knob does not actviate the overhead light. that light activates by switch on the light housing., not the dimmer switch i would start checking for corrosive connectors all over. the door open switches are easy to find. mine needed some san paper and electrical contact cleaner to get back to new. good luk on a brat gl10 mutt.
  2. got the stubs out both sides, had to drill one side, the other finally came loose like it is supposed to. Question: what is the torque tightness on the ring gear bolts? and what is the torque for the stub bolts..... edit for Torque specs i found are as follows: 51-58 ft. lb ring gear bolts 6.5-8.7 ft. lb for bearing cap side bolts 23-27 ft. lb for the stub bolts E10 socket 14-19 ft. lb for the rear cover 51-58 ft. lb for the carrier bracket bushing mount. yay lsd soon done. goingto grind the caSE AND THROW TOGETHER SUNDAY...
  3. i would in no way put in a 2.5, they have headgasket prob's and changing or fixing a hg in that tight area not going to be fun.
  4. glad you made it here to the usmb. keep us posted on any good subies available from your area.
  5. confirmed. my 205/75/15 Baja Widetrack AT's stand at approx 27.5 inches, and the fronts rub on fenders.my lift is 4" front 4" rear....i trimmed some, but they still rub slightly, that is just street/work driving, on corners, pulling into parking lots etc, it rubs.
  6. sounds more like a valet mode on the alarm but over here http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulletin/f85/2009-light-question-32807/
  7. this is manchester england ie UK. so it a MV not a Brat not a Brumby but a MV
  8. your timing belt is off a tooth or 2. please check that. mine was...how i got my 92ss so on the cheaps
  9. nice. like the color very much..that was special order, like dealers around here wouldnt normally receive models in the limited class?
  10. i keep thinking this is needed on my 85 brat just to light the rural highway and keep me from hitting a deer.
  11. ah the valve body. on subarus, they are really not for anybody but the specialist in this area, with a service manual. I tore into a valve body on a bad tranny once, and the valve body is something I will never touch again on a subie. not a simple fix for sure. ..
  12. i spy a keg on the back of yellow truck
  13. looks typical of a car in midwest. that will buff right off.....errr compressed air will clean that right up. scrap it after you get the good parts.
  14. why oh why are they making cars that are good in offroad situations, impossible to take offroad. That front bumper, air dam would get busted off just hitting the normal average street with potholes around here.. subaru, please listen and make the bumper clearance like they used to, so it will clear the foot deep snow and such....come on designers..
  15. also i have 2 good raw stubs ans 2 good bollts...i just need get this out to put new in.
  16. began my LSD conversion today.....using snap-on e10 socket, and a hammer punch, it would not bust loose. sprayed penetrate oil in it, soak....try again. now the head of the axle stub bolt is broke off. I suppose somehow it will have to be drilled (hardened steel here). that was on the one side. Tryed to remove the other sides stub bolt, sprayed, used hammer punch and notta. that one is gonna bust too, I left it alone..... anybody else have this and what did you do to get the crappy open diff guts out when you cant even pop out the stub shafts..... disappointed.....:dead:
  17. where do the fun tops go when you remove them? are the speaker boxxxes in the way?
  18. would fine or super fine steel wool work to do that with wet.? use dish soap water right? I got lots of extra steel wool.
  19. I have not seen any threads on this topic. My topper shell is pretty oxidized on the outside, the surface looks really dull. What do you guys recommend to try and clean it without damaging the paint? I have a fiberglass topper that is somewhat similar in color that the Brat is. I want it to shine and be smooth again......before it goes on for this fall.
  20. if anybodys got em, its probably worth a shot to try this place by via email and wait the 4 days they take to return back. http://www.classicgarage.com/accessories-hella-lights.html
