Timing is off. the only time i ever had a car that got the exhaust cherry red was a white 92SS i bought that the previous owner couldnt get running. It had the T belt off quite a few marks, and althoug it would run with a miss, the longer it ran the worse it got and cherry red exhaust. set timing right, never had a problem and after 25k miles, sold the car/

old knock sensor was toastit was still one with the grey connector, so original too the car. top cracked too new knock sensor today last week new air filter. replaced the autozone plug wires with some used but newer NGK wires from a junkyard car. going to try and get the gas guage working this weekend with some parts from ShawnW. PS. I have a stash of like 12 of these cracked KS's. Every single legacy i have owned has had cracked ones, and the several engines i have pulled at junkyards too are cracked.

Running out of gas.....

gas tank at a junkyard is pretty cheap, like 40 bucks or less. You should have plenty of good tanks to choose from being in the NW. they will probbaly include the sender in the price. -
I got a harbor freight one for i think 42.99 it reads the code and tells you what the code is. It is red and black color of the reader. I no longer have a vehcile new enough that has obdii, I find myself reading and resetting my friends cars alot.

Dealers around here don't have stock of any parts that i have found. they order them all in. no matter what the part is. don't stock in past: knock sensors plug wires valve cover gaskets thermostats brake pads rear main etc that is multiple visits and so i crossed them off my list and just order online or ask members here for parts and that is very helpful.

OEM thermostat, less than 10 bucks with the gasket. go to junkyard pull rear hatch off junky car, they sell them for 45 i think. also you can try anti fog stuff http://www.amazon.com/Rain-X-AF21212-Anti-Fog/dp/B0009H5W5W/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1321415628&sr=8-3 Problem fixed less that 57 bucks and your time. make sure you don't get one that your ex dog clawed up .

no, use regular coolant, the green colored stuff. I buy mine at Oreilly in the black jug, and I buy the 100% concentrate, then mix 50/50 with distilled water before i fill it. Make sure heater select is on hottest, raise the front of the car so it sits higher than the back, and fill coolant. Then start car with cap off let run enough to circulate and top off. Then drive for 4-5 minutes with cap on. Let cool off, then top off in the morning when it is cold. NEVER fill a hot engine with cold coolant. -
New guy beggin for help.
bheinen74 replied to wurkenman's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
what ecu are you using, the JDM i would have to hope. If you have the JDM intake runner, and sensors, then you also use the jdm ecu for that. If you have a usdm ecu, then you need the harness and sensors for that ecu. more info is needed. -
Wow, lets try a 3rd shop. Maybe the shops up there are even worse than the ones here, I am starting to think so. at most, valve covers gaskets on a Subaru shold cost no more than 200 total......that is parts and labor. ( add sigificant to my estimate if you are talking SVX, or any H6 type engine, the rails on those are rididculously close and make that job hard)
