  1. I like to put taller on mine. Leg ss stock is 195/60/15, but i put 205/60/15 cause the tire was cheaper. My parents 06 they put one size taller too. Lower rpms at same mph give better fuel economy.
  2. if parking long term somewhere, might want to pull some fuses and some plug wires off......seen too many of this as of recently
  3. might be this. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250840228306&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT you know those are trailer wheels, right.?
  4. Nice work. If you want more of a challenge next go try that with a SVX:grin:
  5. and dont forget the AE (anderson erickson here) but on a subie, Anniversary Edition. then the ll bean, etc, eddie bauer, lol, and soon to be the basspro shop edition....means nothing to me isnt the lance armstrong model coming soon? and ken block or travis pastrana
  6. from experience. my 92SS i took the trim off, sanded, primed, painted with black lacquer. Reinstalled the trim. Looked awesome, for about 2 months. Then, it too began flaking off. In a year or so it looked like what i started with. Not sure you are going to get anything to stick except for some outdoor black vinyl tape.
  7. surprised it took so long for this and i highly thank you for doing this.
  8. Okay more digging found: distributor connector wiring connector: harness side - distr side black . . black red . . red GRN . . WHITE WHITE . . GRN thats doesnt seem right with how i know sub wiring to be...anyone got one of these pos cars to see if yours is that way?
  9. my dad put over 460k miles on his 88 olds ciera 3.8 But after i switchd my parents over to subarus, they sold it and it is still running around it is a daily driver for who they sold it too. yes, 460k and counting, but my dad was a GM mechanic for 41 years so he maintained it to perfection.
  10. sometimes autos arent bad, no clutch to replace, etc. plus they are good for torque. i need a known good distributor next up and i will install new ngk plugs...had a few autolites and a few champions in this pos..
  11. speaking on experience, i had a 92 legacy sport i bought it had kyb agx and eibach sport springs. Handled like a go cart, but was WAY too stiff and harsh for daily driving, a bumpy road about caused neck pain. thing was horrible, my parents could not even ride in it a short distance it was that bad. yanked them off and sold them, put on some legacy gt springs/shocks. Great ride and handling returned. The person i sold it to said it was the best riding car he had driven.
  12. all plugs removed. snap-on guage throttle propped some battery, probably could charge it up again. I think the problem on this car is something in distributor. runs pretty lousy, plug wire for cylinder 3 when on the cap, makes a "pop, pop, pop" sound near the distributor. unplug #3, and no pop pop pop.. timing is on. bought the car in this condition. wont talk about how the plugs looked, not putting these back in it.
  13. what thoughts out there on the following compression test 1993 ea82" 3-145 1-135, 130, 132 4-125, 138 2-155
  14. Since you are pulling the intake off, might as well do them both why go thru all that and then have to do it all over again in 20k when the other one leaks.
  15. If you had to wofc (watch out for critters), then you probably should carry one of those small 15 dollar fire extenguishers, cause mice like to feed on wire insulation, which in turn, causes fire at some point when something shorts out under the dash or hood.
  16. it's too late here, but there are hundreds of pages suggesting if there is not title, do not buy that car. I would store it and do nothing on it until you do get a title in your name.
  17. no to weber he is in CA it won't ever pass emissions unless they ignore that old of cars. your front right fender is from something newer, it has the antenna on he right that is a 84 or newer one.
  18. I need to tow dolly a ea82 autmatic 4wd. I am taking along 10mm and 12mm wrenches as well as various other tools to unbolt the driveshaft to the rear diff. I know there are 4 bolts with nuts and lock washers holding it there. I am not quite familiar enough with these ea82 cars. Do you think there is a way i can then pull the driveshaft to the side near the rear diff up and ratchet strap it in place so it doesnt happen to rub on the rear diff input which wil be spinning while i tow dolly the car. How else does the driveshaft mount, any special mount bushing or etc, I will also bring a hog pan to drain the fluid out if need to.. need to dolly the car about 65 miles. any help soon please.
  19. After you spray the rustoleum rust resistant primer then spray with gray "primer sealer". then topcoat. then clear.
  20. if you got access to compressed air nozzle, you can turn it to heat, and aim the air into the center vents right behind the radio. then open it to part defrost and blow more air in. I think thats how i got most of my gunk out (that process sort of backflows up toward the top. ....every once in a while while driving down the road at warp speed and turning fan on high, i can get a little bit more out....
  21. with heat temp select to hottest....that way you fill the heater core too, helping remove air.
