  1. with gas getting close to $ 5/gallon again, i am doing what i can to get my BRAT back to the best mpg it can, means ditching the weber for stock carb.
  2. I am pulling off my weber this week and going to see if I can get the hitachi to run decently. If so, I will post my weber for sale. If not, I will just put weber back on for a bit longer. I am looking for optimal gas mileage, over power gains.
  3. sounds like a 85 with the EA82 engine. Not going to work on a BRAT with EA81 correctly you said you got it running on it.?
  4. 4 hrs 20 minutes away. I get to KC a few times a year, for baseball games and pick n pull yards
  5. All I can say is be prepared for wrong parts ALL the time on this. So far, how many wrong parts have you got: keep a list, it will be every other part.
  6. Its all price dependent. I missed the price. example, I sold my rustfree 5spd Baja in 2010 for 6700. it had 161k miles one owner clean never wrecked nothing at all wrong with it. Is this one less? It took me 6 months to even get that price. I had it on all the boards, no one even came to look at it, I almost crushed it.
  7. you probably got a stuck caliper. Either piston froze up or slider stuck. Rust.
  8. pretty cool. I will either ride along with Dennis in his vehicle, or tempt to go abuse my hatchback some. first year i did it you could call it "dust coast" 2010 it was muddy in a bunch of spots. 2011 they didnt hold it 2012? -mostly Jeeps, the occasional landcruiser, suzuki, ram truck bronco etc. First time i went they had a Baja Bug. It crashed hard into the ditch he was close enough to get it home and join us in the afternoon after repair. you can go to here, then scroll to find "2009 Mudcoast" and play the video, I had my 83Gl and Dennis had his 78 BRAT: http://www.roadrallycharities.com/videos/
  9. doh many threads talk of this too. I think aluminum scrap prices are up, which is good, you can scrap them for a little change.
  10. would this work http://www.ebay.com/itm/2008-SVT-SHELBY-GT500-FACTORY-FORD-STOCK-SUPERCHARGER-200-miles-on-it-LIKE-NEW-/330693828234?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4cfee35e8a#ht_5489wt_1069
  11. at about 2:10 the song. "this is my Sooooba roooooo don't touch it"
  12. I dont have/don't use facekook anymore. please keep me posted here.
  13. I thought BuckarooBanzai mentioned an interest in AC system, but it would have to be in good working condition and COMPLETE a to z. Maybe he will post up.
  14. Looks like the car has heavy and good undercoating, that is likely what saved this EA81. Most have been rotted like 15 years ago and taken off the road at least that long ago. Good survivor. If I had sold my Legacy SS I would have called the seller and got this before you, but instead i still have a SS.
  15. I think that is cruise control box. The ECU looks different and is not tucked away in that spot, although close. Only the feedback and CA cars had ECU. Your car likely has no ECU.
  16. ^ never use a wire brush around fuel. hello that is rule number one. Wire brush can cause spark which can burn up . there is no secondary pump, that is the other sending unit on the left side.
  17. I think those are just wagon wheels from a trailer, mounted in reverse so the fronts are in towards the axle and the inward part of the wheel is mounted outward.-with relocated valve stems.
  18. I am still trying to scrape the muck off from 2010 Mudcoast when i took my BRAT. I bet my old 83 Rescue wagon still has some evidence on it from mudcoast 2009. This year, i dunno to soon to tell.
