The carb on my brat isnt responding to the gas pedal and the butterfly valves arent working with the cables. I went over a speed bump and it revved out super high. help stuck at friends house
-
Hatch is 2wd, that could serve as a problem. I might run it by the mechanic tomorrow and see what he says. Appreciate all the help GD.
-
I pray for the day I see breast augmentation at a drive-thru. Makes that burritar twice as good.
-
My hatch will serve as my new parts car. Will the disty be the same with it being EA-81 and all?
-
As much alternator trouble as I had with my hatch I should start to recognize the signs immediately. I hope it doesnt have as many electrical problems as the hatch did. I have a local fellar who does my starter/alternator rebuilds for around $10. (Good Ole' Boy System at it's finest). How about would I change out the disty?

He believes replacing the distributor can fix all of this. I am wondering if anyone else has heard anything similar to this.

Mazda wheels with 4x140 (or 4x139.7)?

That is one ugly jalopy. -
He did mention the tach read irregularly also.
-
I am going to check out an 83 brat tomorrow and the owner says that the distributor needs replaced because of bad bushings. He says it causes the oil, gas and voltage readings to read wrong. Would a distributor cause this or what?

Cool! Thats what I needed to know, thats one of the companies that operates inside the company. You can check it out at colinx.com I work for INA, our sister company is *********, yes I know, heard the jokes, to clear it up it stands for Fisher and Group. German bearing companies for ya. -

I really enjoyed that. I about spilled my drink when I seen the 80 MPH mark and 4k RPM pic. I was scared to do 60 MPH in my hatch. I can only imagine how loud that EA81 was. -

This is a random question. I work in the bearing distribution industry while going to school and am anxious to know who makes the wheel bearings for our subes. It should be seen on the side of the bearing who made it. Just a little curious. -

I bet the EPA would go ape sh*t if they seen that thing. -
I saw that the other night and thought that was a pretty good shape loyale from what I could get out of the pictures. Try and work the dude down a bit on the price cause thats a little steep for me.

Dead Alternator? Hoping so... *FIXED*
Durania replied to MoscowSubaruDude's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Sounds just like, especially the RPM fluctuation part. My alternator would go here and there until one night driving home it surged and blew every one of my headlights including some dash bulbs and the ones for the climate control. That sucked rump roast. -

Looks like the engine bay of my EA-81 hatch. Oil spewed from the pan gasket and all over. BTW: Anyone wants it come and get it $400. -

All I have to say about that is: DAMN. -
I don't know about the rest, but I seen him do it. He had long brown hair and was wearing a Billy Joel t-shirt. He was traveling east.

Sorry. Just being the fact that 99% of all the other camaro drivers on the road are some ex-football star who still live in 1980. Also, most camaro drivers lack common sense, being that they think a muscle car should have an autotragic transmission.
-
Yeah man, the Mythbusters busted that one.
-
Well, he did drive a camaro, that should be evidence that he was lacking basic knowledge to begin with.

I would assume that you have already contacted a lawyer?

Maybe its a sign that it is time for a WRX?
