Whoa. Turns out my Brat is still on the road too. Got sold again in June of this year. I sold it in August 08. -

Bingo. My Felpro valve cover gaskets on my wagon said "made in Japan" on them. -

Sounds like you may also need a clutch cable. Make sure and get one from the dealer as the parts store ones are garbage. -

I can't imagine replacing that cable to be fun. Be glad, my 05 STi doesn't even get a remote trunk release. -
100% agree. They are also especially obnoxious. You have bigger fish to worry about on that motor than making duck noises.

Remember the valve cover gaskets are cork and do not require a ton of torque. Just snug them up or you will be in a world of hurt. Fel-Pro is the best bet.
