+1 Go out there and turn the inside fan all the way up, headlights on bright, and windshield wipers on. That will give you plenty of load on the system to do an adequate check. It sounds like you got it worked out though.

I have similar experiences with my Brat. I learned that you can't baby these things or they will walk all over you. You just got to get in and drive it like there is no tomorrow and it will do just fine.

I wondered that for awhile myself, when I took a more in depth look at my Weber setup; I found it to be disconnected and removed it and made for a good tarp weight for the parts Brat.

Go and make sure there is a belt running to your A/C unit for starts. Its under your hood and will be to the right of the alternator. Then we can go from there.

Ive got almost 218K on motor and tranny. Tranny is slipping a bit but motor still has a ton of life even though it leaks a little oil, hell, don't they all?
