Understeer + wet roads...
Durania replied to Caboobaroo's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I did the exact same thing in my hatchback coming home from a friend's house after a spring rain one day. I had a date and was excited and forgot that the hatch had touchy brakes. -
Greetings from Crossville. What specific vacuum hose was leaking?

+1 Go out there and turn the inside fan all the way up, headlights on bright, and windshield wipers on. That will give you plenty of load on the system to do an adequate check. It sounds like you got it worked out though.

Have A Sitdown with Your Subie
Durania replied to The Dude Abides's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I have similar experiences with my Brat. I learned that you can't baby these things or they will walk all over you. You just got to get in and drive it like there is no tomorrow and it will do just fine. -
The Unicorn Found! Video proof of long bed brat!
Durania replied to carfreak85's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I remember seeing this a few months ago, but still had to watch it again. I still think they went farther out on the US spec Brats than anywhere else in the world. -
I plan to attend this May. http://www.rallytennessee.com/2008/

I like the emblem in the center of the trunk, has the 06 year influence there. If you had a good bit of money, the STi 6 speed would be a great fix for the infamous 5MT trannys. Also the 02 STi hood scoop looks awesome on those, see the picture I took of my good friend's. Otherwise, I am jealous. I remember when I was 14 and fell in love with the WR Blue Pearl 02 WRX at the dealer. I am buying one whenever I get done with the higher education endeavors.

Brat- uk how much is it worth?
Durania replied to rockhopper's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Brumby= Brat. In some places such as Australia, New Zealand to name a few called it this. -
Look on the bright side, you have a hydraulic lifter motor that don't require valve adjustments. 85 was the last year they did the seats. This is on the top of the page and is an invaluable resource: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/brats/Brats.pdf

All trouble lights came on

Don't put off replacing the alternator or you will end up paying for a tow truck and then doing the replacement. -

Let's see some pics of that UK Brat. -
Darn mice!
Durania replied to sparkydave's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVX
I had mice eat through my crank sensor not once, but twice! Then I left a bag of Werther's Candy in my Brat and there is still pieces of shredded golden wrappers in there. -
If I recall correctly, it addresses this issue in your owner's manual to be normal.

What is that about a 95 Legacy? Yes, I laughed very hard. -

I can't wait to hear what one of these sounds like with an opened up exhaust. -
Jordan, looks good. Also looks like your regular OEM headlights are in really good shape. You got in day time pics?

I wondered that for awhile myself, when I took a more in depth look at my Weber setup; I found it to be disconnected and removed it and made for a good tarp weight for the parts Brat.
