  1. Set out today in the early A.M. with a major sinus infection. It rained today pretty much exactly like the day I went and got my BRAT. Met up with my WRX buddy who knows this guy and we went to meet him; Wheels and tires with enough tread left, for free! Here is some pics from today: Here is what the tread looks like: Here is my 91 Legacy: Here is some of my buddies WRX with me in the BRAT:
  2. How much would we be talking, like $400 a set? I just scored a free set of WRX wheels and it got me to thinking....
  3. Thanks for all the replies fellas. I am excited about getting these wheels tomorrow and will post some pics of them when I get a chance. Dude said they came on his legacy wagon and wanted them out of his garage being that he didn't like them. So they are going on my 91 legacy that has bald tires and going to go with that.
  4. My BRAT did this on the 234K gauge cluster that I just took out. Apparently the oil or something in the tach is not present after 24 years of driving and it takes a while before the tach can get up there. It used to take mine 20 minutes before it would act normal and bugged the crap out of me. I switched mine to one with 60k and it only does it for a second now. I don't think its that big of an issue just having to wait and let it warm up. I remember seeing a thread where you can re-lube it but it doesn't take much to do it oil wise. Kyle.
  5. Part of owning a 20 year old car,a majority of us realized this a long time ago.
  6. This is my first question on this side of the board so here it goes. Guy I know has a set of WRX wheels that he wants gone so I will be going to get them this weekend and plan on putting them on my 91 Legacy. Will I need to get different lug nuts for it from the dealership so that they can fit on the legacy?
  7. I am so jealous of you guys. The most snow we get here is about 4 inches a year, all it does is rain.
  8. I need to adjust mine badly, how long does it take? Something I would like to learn and start doing myself.
  9. Am I overlooking the pics from this run or have they not been posted yet? Anxious to see them...

  11. I talked to him the other night, said his internet company switched owners and has been down.
  12. I love the pin striping on your wagon, wish my brat had that.
  13. The battery that went bad in my hatchback was just 6 months old. You might just want to wait till payday and replace them both. Gives you peace of mind at least.
  14. I had a bad wal-mart battery once give me some issues like you described.
  15. Finally got around to fixing the mixture on my weber today. Cross-referenced with the redline weber page and went out and put the mixture back to where it should be. I had to turn the screw about 4 1/2 turns to get it back to where it bottoms out . Put it at 2 turns and compensated the idle speed and drove it to work. I have yet to tell a difference just yet but really hope that I have this thing worked out. The only goofy thing I have gotten is that every so often, it will rev about 500 RPMs up then back down by itself, I don't get this. http://www.redlineweber.com/html/Tech/carburetor_set_up_and_lean_best_.htm
  16. Love the maroon color of your brat. My white parts brat rusted out in the same place yours did.
  17. I too locked myself out of my BRAT last week at school. I took a clothes hanger and managed to shimmy it through enough to pop the t-top latch out and lift it up and take the t-top out and stick my arm through to get in.
  18. Been monitoring the mileage the past few weeks, managed to get 22 and that is strictly highway miles, thought it had finally corrected itself since I lowered the choke idle speed about 1000 RPMs. Still no luck, would I turning the idle mixture all the way to lean and then come back up a bit maybe help some?
  19. HatchSub did a write up for converting an EA81 to manual its in the USRM. Maybe he will add his thoughts too. With the automatic you have a hydraulic lifter motor, it should have gold stickers on the valve covers. This should be on your pro list. Welcome to the USMB.
  20. The rats always had a habit of chewing through the crank sensor wires on my 91 Legacy. Smart rodents, they love them some subaru.
  21. I feel the same way about the previous owner of my brat.
  22. It was for sale a long time ago on ebay. First time I seen it was in a magazine; had to do a double take when I seen the extra two intake pipes.
  23. Glad somebody got it. Congrats and welcome to the USMB.
