those 10 mm nuts ar on the firewall on an L shaped plate that bolts to the pedal.... you will figure it out:headbang:
-
if its like an ea82 wagon , the easiest thing to do is look up above where the cable links to the pedal, and unbolt the 14 mm nut that holds the pedal on. itll be about a 4 inch bolt, then there are two 10 mm nuts that have to come off and whala your whole pedal is off. swap the cable, and put it back together. and it takes 30 minutes, allowing for adjustment and the like:headbang:

i ran mine welded for nearly a year and it was fine. as long as the factors are in your favor. your axles have to be at a low angle, if they are already extendedwhen sitting on a flat, they will eventually break. you cant have to much weight in the rear, it never broke but it sure didnt sound good you have to change your driving style of course and i think that it had alot to do with my swampers, they have so much tread and tire flex that they more or less slid on pavement rather than chirp or hop. yes it did fail eventually, i was trying to go up an impossible hill climb and wedged a rear tire under a root, and snapped the spline off of my rearend. after inspecting everything the cv's are still good to go, feel new even, but after popping a cv out of joint when i first got the lift, i drilled holes in my mustache bar, (a poor mans drop block for the rearend) putting way less angle on my cv's. i am not saying it will be fine to do, but if you take some precautions, you will have way better luck.

you can do both, but the easiest way is to have two people, with it jacked up. one person yanking and pushing on the wheel, like you were trying to change the camber, and one down on the ground up close and personal with the ball joint. ANY play in it will be a significant amount while driving at higher speeds. and not to mention un safe:headbang:

if you have to put a heli coil in it would be in your best interest to take off the head, our threads are aluminum, witch means that if when you re-tap ,anything drops inside the cylendar, you cant use a magnet to get it out, all you can do is hope that it gets spit out the exhaust valve before it f's the wall up. on a ford, they can use a magnet to remove any debris

my mom sent my first subaru to the junkyard while i was living in another state:mad: i didnt know how to fix it at the time but all it was was timing belts, and no i didnt get pictures but when i parked it it had 487,650 on the clock, and from when i bought it off my buddy at 150 or so, i only changed the oil once(it burned enough to just keep adding). went thru a starter, alt, battery, clutch cable, and a whole bunch of tires:headbang: somewhere i have a regular picture oflike 330 or so on the clock but i havent seen that picture in a few years. his name was subie subobarubu and i miss that car more than anything....ever. f'en mom.... -
its easy everything swaps right over. make sure you follow your vacuume line all the way back to the canister thing on the passenger side and plug it there then remove the 4wd actuators all together. other than that it is pretty strait forward just put it together the way you take it apart oh and its easiest to remove the driveline by dropping the caraige baring the driveline will slide outand your gear oil will dum p in your eyes.... oh yeah drain it first dummy:lol: and as for the cv's they are held on by a pin about an inch and a half from the tranny you will find it easy, use a chainsaw file or something that diamiter to tap it out, i have used a battery tie down rod before.. and have fun:headbang:

LIFT KITS NEED HELP CHOOSING tips for a first time lifter
ninjaben43 replied to WrothDONKEY's topic in Off Road
aa says they still make lifts, but they are like 750 bucks i have one and it has not failed me yet, but ive heard ALOT of gripe about them. i like what i see with sjr and want one myself for my hatch but i think im gunna go bigger than 6 in. as for an ea82 wagon get what you can afford and you will be happy, then weld your rear end buy some kumho mt's and go balance your checkbook , because by that time you will be a junkie:headbang:
