ninjaben43 replied to Phizinza's topic in Off Road
yeah were broke around here too, but even if i had money i would still only drive subies:headbang: i need to get some of those kumhos, my swampers are almost bald after only 1-2000 miles:mad: -
word to that homie
-
you cant see it in the picture, but the black one sa id "JEEP EATER" in 8 inch letters on the back, it was rad..
-
yeah i know, but i am startin a ea81 hatch rig and this one will be my daily. if i can find a feee loyale body ill just do the swap, i have dome it before, and it didnt take that long. engine, trans, lift, running gear, interior, 6 lug etc. plus it is still full of dust all the time from sinking it up to the windshield in mud. my old loyale had fallen off a cliff and i could never get the back to stop leaking exhaust, so i baught the red one and swapped EVERYTHING.

some of us could use some lotion with a sexy pictorial like that:rolleyes:
-
yeah.. not pretty, but if i can make a windshield fit, i dont care. i am keeping my eye out for a new body tho.
-
ineed to get the gang together and head up to b town, let me know about any upcoming trips you are planning

yeah the kumhos are a good tire, my swampers only have 2-3 k miles on the and they are almost bald, but the swampers are cheaper.... 350.00 the kumhos are 105.00 apiece at discount tire. mtnman38 has been rocking kumhos on his daily driver for awhile now and they are still good to go, and he bought them used.and, he is pretty impressed with how they perform.

he says hi, and it shouldnt be long for the internet, mabey a couple of weeks.

well you can drift all day if you counter steer, and keep it to a low speed. my brother was behind me and i couldnt see him in the rear view any more, so i tried to slide sideways to a stop, but because of blown struts and honda springs in the rear, i more or less bounced into a roll, ithink on my last bounce i may have landed in a small rut tha didnt help things either. none the less i knew someday i would roll(i like to drive wrecklessly on logging roads if i know the terrain) this time it just ended wreckfully... i thought i woul roll in the snow though, none the less i dont care that i rolled, it was fun.

yeah he got his house and it will be a while before he can update anyone because the cable company has to run an underground cable to his house for internet, but ill send him your love:brow: ben

on a up note... no pun intended, he started right up, with a small puff of smoke, and the only fluid loss was mabey a 1/4 cup of break fluid. kinda strange. now the question is do i fix or no? all i care about is function, and the only thing not pullng its weight are the windows ie windsheild(obviously) the pillar behind the drivers door is bent in about an inch and a half, and the rear gate has a 1/4 in. gap,and sinse i bring my 2 yar old son with me sometimes (not last time) i will not put up with exhaust in the car. but mechanically he is good to go, absolutly no alignment probs etc.
-
i have decided that drifting is not meant for my car....... well not this one. and i should have replaced the blown struts in the rear before i left.......well i probobly should have done alot of things different....

that is why you just buy the adapter 12 dollars is not alot to ask for peace of mind about your electrical... try taking out the stereo and if that fixes it then you know its there. you said none of your fusea are blown? make sure your battery is disconnected while you are f-en with it. it shold be obvious where the smoke came from

yeah thats my other brother tristan, we have our own little subie club here in the bainbridge ,kingston, poulsbo area,he isnt a member but he is a good guy, he bought that hatch off of my roomate, mtnman38 our group consists of me, ninjaben43, 92 loyale , mtnman38, 82?brat, tristan, el toro 86 gl wagon, 86 oopsie 88 gl wagon, ted 87 gl wagon, casey 86 gl wagon, nick, 87 gl wagon, and pobobly 5 others that rarely hang out , much less com to the woods, we also have one of those myspace clubs i guess called S.E.X.( i.e. subaru exploder xterra) ted also has the exploder, and our buddy wilbert, has quite the xterra. we also hooked up with this group of (im sorry to say) jeeps lately but they are good sports about being pulled out by subies though, and they drink lots of beer also , so i dont see a problem.

listen to nipper man. my wife had a 97 2.5 gt that went 278,000 miles and the whole time we had it all of these problems were there. to answer your original q, keep the car if you like it, there is no reason to get a new one if you plain ol dont need it. your car will tell you when it is time to replace all of this ish (when it fails or starts to act out of the ordinary). now if you want to do all of this work in one swoop, go ahead... it will be cheaper in the long run to have it all done when the engine is out. BUT,fron reading this thread, i dont think anything NEEDS to be done at all.

my buddy has a set of 4 pirelli (p zeros?)for sale, they were used on subiegals rally car... but they are 14's meant for a impreza. if you are interested my roomate has i think 10 or so sets of pugs that he has for sale. the tires are in pretty good condition and he got them cheap ... subiegal only runs a set of tires for like 2 races my roomate is mtnman38 and i am ninjsben43... oh and i met a guy at a rallycross that sells new and used rally 13's for a pretty good price i just cant remember his .com but ican ask my buddt if you want me too, let me know (im)
