  1. Care to share the story? Thats looks pretty serious.. I've been in one accident, all by my self on the way back from work a few months ago. Rain + General Carelessness + multiple possible excuses + Rock wall. Took the kinda wrong line around a corner understeered once hitting corrogations in the road (due to the line I took), snapped off the throttle not long into the understeer, at which point the back stepped out, silly amounts of oversteer and complete opposite lock to no avail (I'm not saying I'm the king of oversteer or anything here either.) But yeah, sliding sideways at that point, I think at this point I hit the anchors and the clutch, remember looking right and seeing empty road, and straight ahead a rock wall slowly getting closer, nicked the front end, which spun the car 180*, so stopped pointing away from the wall with the back end probably pretty close to the wall. Cursed a few times (understatement), looked round, hit the gas (its still going wtf?!), back in first and pretty much didn't stop except to pour rainwater through the engine, as the rad was burst. Did get out to pick up my bumper, numberplate, and kick one or two rocks off the road. Chassis just kinda popped apart up front due to rust. This picture was prior to strapping the front of the car to a powerpole and tugging backwards(and sideways) Not a very exciting story. In comparison to others. But probably worth telling.
  2. I would llike to know what you find too, as one of mine have shifted loose once before, causing a scary front end wobble so to speak.
  3. I hear ya. Where have you found best to get parts for the Gen'1's? What does your Chassis number start with also? NA5?
  4. Yes! I am looking at that now too! Someone needs to get it. I want to get it, but I shoudn't But I want to! Oh NOEs!
  5. Sold it to a guy in Levin for $1000 or there abouts. Wasn't completely satisfied with him but anyway, live and learn. No new engine that I knew of, I was second owner and brought it after the first owner died... I had been told it had some sort of reconditioning done on the engine, not a full rebuild as far as I know though. I found receipts for ~$700 of brake work. Fairly well serviced all of its life with the previous owner and while I had it. I put new timing belts on it. I don't really need tooo much for my cars at the mo. Only one I'm trying hard to keep on the road is the my '81 brumby, My little project, the rest are beyond saving. It needs CV's (repco are so F#@'in useless) and a few other little things. Still WOF'd and REGo'd though. Always on the look out for Gen 1's near me. Apprentice wages aren't the best tho. Also looking for some tasteful accessories (alloys- hint hint- rofl). Anyway, anything you needa know just ask me and I'll see if I can help ya. Kinda getting off track here.

  7. I sold that in May.. You like the boost gayge?
  8. Got pictures of your RX? What body panels do you need?
  9. As much as I like something a little Kiwi... I like the Swiss attempt better!
  10. I did a stint in a farm supply store, you could tell just which ones were 'real' farmers.... Not very socialized people that was for sure.
  11. Yeah pretty much what he said. If you only did the fronts, shouldn't be too much of a mission. Start with the wheel furtherest away from the master cylinder, so for those in the US, I'm thinking RH front wheel, no need to bother with the rears if you havn't touched them. Make sure you've got some spare brake fluid, and the reservoiur is topped right up. Helps to have the wheel off, and a buddy who doesn't mind brake fluid, or just pumping the pedal. find the bleed nipple, probably like a 8,9,10mm fella. Get your mate to pump the pedal a few times, then hold it down. This is when you crack open the bleed nipple, and you'll probably get air for a bit, but when your mate says the pedal has moved to the floor, You'll close it off---- While he/she is still holding the pedal down. Now get him/her to pump and hold it down again, you do the opening and then closing again. Do this a few times, till you get fluid coming out every time and no air. Remember to check and top up the fluid aswell every 1 to 2 times you do that, to be on the safe side. If it empty's you are back to square 1. The pedal should be starting to feel a little better by now. Repeat for the drivers side wheel now. Put wheels back on... Check fluid level. Hose brake fluid off everything--- Its horrid stuff. And you should be done! Anyone feel free to correct any errors I may have made.
  12. How does someone like that get a ebay account also. Surely its like.. Just bad.
  13. This is why the piston is no longer moving. Have you bled the brakes after disconnecting the fluid filled lines?
  14. Ooooh Bad luck mate. That'd be 100% soul breaking material, I mean, just to catch fire and begin to toast itself while completely unattended. Good luck getting things back together and the way they should be.
  15. Keep an eye on trademe. I distinctly remember seeing an ea81/ea82 weber carb adapter plate on there, guy had been selling new ones, on there for months. More are bound to show up anyway.
  16. Thats a really good idea. Gonna have to do that myself now.
  17. And yeah, all 5 ea81's I've had round have had the fan now that I think of it.
  18. Really? ************ thats awesome to know. NZDM.. or something. Also, todd, my email is going insane, tryed 3 different clients to send it, I'll get them to you eventually, just have to keep trying.
