  1. Oh I dunno. There were a few slugs there. Two road going gen 1 brumbys in one place would be awesome. I might post a few pictures of the weekend here, you guys might find them interesting.
  2. Rotated! Todd, email on the way hopefully. I also am really digging the crazy eighties colours, had originally planned on leaving the brumby beige, but that green with white decals is pretty appealling at the moment. Cubastreet- I didn't enter the trackday, nasty clacky cv's, clutch on its way out didn't really seem up for it, I will be better organised next year. I guaruntee it. Pictures will be taken.
  3. So while at an 'oldschool' meet this last weekend, I got talking to a guy who said he had some brochures I might be interested in. Two days later in the mail. AUS/NZ 1981 Subaru sales brochures. Mint condition! Looks similar to the US ones but a bit different. One has a price written on it, $12395! I have higher res if anyone would like. The cover Inside page 1 inside page 2 Back cover #2 Cover Inside Pages Inside folded out
  4. Quad headlights and Poo grey steels here. Not saying I don't have a few sets of white spokes though..
  5. While on this track. I'd be looking other places for rust too. I doubt its confined to just there. Over here The A pillar and below the windscreen rust out before anything else.
  6. Do you guys have like.... Any safety inspections overthere?
  7. How difficult is it to bleed the cooling system with it up there? How does your rad cap etc still work? also
  8. How on earth does he do it? He must drive insane amounts!
  9. Cool. The guy I brought it off said it had the number plate brumby, I'm not sure on the spelling, whether it was brumby or brumbee. But he lost them in his house, and the car was really his brothers or something, so it may be difficult getting the ownership of the plate.
  10. Oh yeah, I'll probably just be using it to go bush, and nearby 4x4 spots
  11. Nah thats cool, I wouldn't'a put it in there if I didn't want people to see it. Is it normal for there to be a slight lip in the roofline where the T-tops would normally end at the rear or roof kinda following the curves on what would say "BRAT" going over the roof? Description bad..
  12. Yeah I popped it on hold, only had about 12 days of WOF left and a month of rego. I am looking into getting a farm registration.
  13. Oh also, might make it a little more understandable, Brats were marketed as brumby's over here and in Austrailia. And it being yellow small and stripy is a play on words of the Kiwi icon of the Buzzy Bee toy and the Name brumby. Brumby with fubared CV's probably makes the same clicky sound the toy does too.
  14. dfoyl- Spot on! Its a pretty cool little piece of kiwiana I feel. Pity about its condition. bucky- Here are all the pictures I took of it. I can get more if you so need. Drove it a bit more tonight, no exhaust rocks....
  15. Yeah, I came out fine. Was more a kinda spinny impact than a big sudden stop. I hit a wall... well a rock face bank on the roadside of my daily commute. Kinda dumb but oh well, I'm ok, and over here the car was doomed because of 6 monthly inspection, rust was a little issue. Was a bit of an eye opener to see the way the chassis rails at the front just popped apart and bent due to the rust. Makes me think twice about driving shoddy cars. I put another less leaky radiator in today, as well as straightening it out a bit.... those were the after pictures. So it can still be used. Just not on the road.
  16. This is something people outside of NZ might not find quite as cool.
  17. I can vouch for ea71's in ea82 style vehicles. It happened. Not too bad little cars either.
  18. So ordinary ea81 and prior steels would probably work too? Or is this another grey area?
  19. There is such a thing as a carbed ej18.
  20. I'd love a copy... But its not exactly viable on my wage...
