I love that ad. Soo soo awesome/sexest/typically 70's. -
James, Does your GSR have these? I think its got something to do with central locking.... Not so sure about the thing on the dash though.

If it helps, I used door rubbers off one of my worse off 1st gen brumbys on my GSR. Not a perfect fit, the wind still howls a bit sometimes, but the old ones were WAY shot. -

I will have to try and out-do you har har har! Just out of curiosity... Are your springs captive still? Or anywhere near it?
-
I like the way you think Full write-up as you progress please!

Good on you for saving what you can. I understand what its like with parts and whatnot.. Its a shame they did to it what they did.

I'm back! (got a new-old Subaru!)
waimaks replied to Ratty2Austin's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
This could work in our favour also, a Subaru employee that actually cares about Gen 1's. Excellent... Lookin goooood also. -
Yeah thats the plan. Just unsure on how to go about adjusting them and how many spines = how much distance. Thats not as much of an issue though.
-
So I'm thinking about (going to) lower the GSR a little and was hoping for some advice. In the front I was thinking about using brumby front struts with the adjusters on just incase it need to be wound up a little (eg- Making springs captive for inspection) and just cutting a few coils off some spare sets I've got kicking around. And in the back.... Reclocking the torsion bar, What is the procedure for this? How does the plan sound so far?

Sounds really interesting. Would it be possible if you gave a bit of a detailed write up on what you've done? -
Good call. From memory thinking back it was 2mm not degrees of toe out. I forget badly.
-
The guys at a local place had no problem doing mine. Reading the sheet it looks asthough they used specs off a 2nd Gen vehicle perhaps. If its only the toe it can't be too different right? I think they gave me 2* toe out. I wish I'd done it sooner.

+1 I'd love to hear some more about how you shoehorned that in there Pleeeeease! -
Ok so I'm getting all interested in doing something to my brumby, not immediately, but one day. Gathering info at the moment so.... Ej22, with an ej manual box. No lift. I realize there may be chassis rail cutting needed to clear the heads, but will the box fit? And what makes the ea81 and EA71 crossmembers different?

How do you check anti-dieseling valve
waimaks replied to 76subi wagon's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Thats about the most 'checking' I think you can do. I had a problem with one sticking closed, pulled it out, and cleaned it up with white spirits/carb cleaner. 6 months so far and no more problems..
