  1. I would use a higher octane and mix it with regular gas because E20 probably has a lower BTU rating than regular gas.
  2. Don't forget to consider that the Prius' batteries need replaced after like 5 years of use. That can be done to the tune of $8000.
  3. Probably something to the tune of $300 or more. $180 for the starter and at least 2 hours for labor at $70+ an hour.
  4. A/C at speeds above 55-ish mph for savings. Maybe that's the way it is on the older cars, but I just tested it on a tank with my 91 Legacy; +2mpg to shut off the car at long lights. Agreed. The weight is already there - the friction is negligible.
  5. In the older (1990-1994) 4EAT, you can float between R->N<->D<->3 without pressing the button. Any other moves require the releasing the interlock.
  6. I'd probably have the tranny flushed just to get any bits out if there are any.
  7. The problem is that the 1990-1991 Legacies use the drop style endlinks - not the C-Style links of the newer cars.
  8. Nipper's right. The conditions you described are just what a dying alternator looks like.
  9. I think there's a box for the belts under the passenger side seat. I'd check to make sure all the connections are connected correctly there.
  10. I thought this thread was pretty funny. Especially because the new Impreza looks just like a Toyota Corolla.
  11. As the proud owner of a 1990-1991 EJ22, I third that message that it is a fine hunk of aluminum!
  12. Any EJ22 before 1996 will be a near to bulletproof as you can get with an engine. I don't know much about the electronics and what not....
  13. 5x114.3 for the SVX wheels. The 05+ WRX and STI have that pattern. Every other modern era Subaru has 5x100.
  14. EJ20. Has better flowing heads and more potential for more horsepower. The EJ20 is what came in the WRX's when they first came to America (I think?).
  15. Thermostat before assuming HG's. If there's no mixing or leaking going on, it can't be the HG's.
