  1. I got 27mpg going back and forth to Philly (180ish miles round trip) with my 2.2L Legacy fully loaded down with 4 people and stuff (that was averaging 80-85 down the turnpike).
  2. Why would you be worried? As long as there aren't like rats anywhere they aren't supposed to be, I think it'll fire right up after you get the gunk out of the carb. Might take a little ether, but it should go. My 1965 LeMans can sit for 10 months and fire right up whenever I want it to.
  3. Put your seatbelt on when you get in the car and then take it off as you're getting out? It's illegal to drive without a seatbelt on so....
  4. Uh, ebrake isn't going to do anything about an open differential. I think you needed a little bit more weight in the back to get that rear tire to have some traction. You could also try better tires and lowering the PSI in them (because you were on sand).
  5. Street Racing FTL people....:-\ Can't say I've ever used the FWD fuse on my car. I can't imagine it would lead to burn outs....but I've never tried.
  6. $60 dollars from Autozone with the core. For me, it's $60 for the axle and $60 for the hour's worth of labor to replace it coming to a total of $120. However, since Autozone axles have lifetime warranties, it's just $60 per time the axle goes - which is rare.
  7. But the Loyale electronics are rather different from the Legacy electronics. The Legacy Low Fuel lights are not known the fail, but the gauges are.
  8. 156k on my 1991 4EAT AWD and no failures here. Just some rough shifting sometimes - acceptable for a 16yo tranny.
  9. If the 17's are cheap, I don't see why getting them is such an issue. 17's look fine on the Legacy's. I'd just be a little concerned about rubbing if you're on a worn out suspension.
  10. I'd find someone who's parting out a STI or something and grab the catback. They can be had for like 50 bucks...
  11. 310 miles per tank is easy. On the highway, I can get above 400miles per tank (25mpg). Going to Philly and back, I got 27mpg. Putting around with occasional spirited driving I get 20-22.
  12. That's under 20mpg...I can get that when I drive my car like I stole it.
  13. Busted CV joints don't cause resistance - certainly not enough to cause a gas mileage change.
  14. I'll give nipper slow, and I might even give him a little ugly. However, the turbo cars aren't slow, and they aren't that ugly. The problem with the 95+ ones is that they're really cheap compared to the 90-94 models.
  15. Really? And what prompted such a change? AFAIK, the change in HP came with the compression change and change to interference design in 1996-1997.
  16. Actually, for the wiring to be the same, it needs to come from a car from 1989-1994. And some 1995's will fit too. We're talking all OBDI here so it doesn't really matter. The wiring on the 1989-1994 Legacies is all the same. All the phase one (pre-1997) EJ22's have 130hp so you're stuck either way.
  17. I know what SVX's are and there is no reason to part one out unless the body is like twisted all to hell.
  18. Legacy/Impreza Trannies will fit just fine as long as you get a matching rear differential. If you're going to just part it out, don't even bother buying it. Let somebody who won't do that get it. SVX's are rare enough as it is, we don't need more people killing them off.
  19. Any engine from a non-turbo Legacy 1989-1995 will fit. You don't have to have one from 1990.
