  1. PA inspection reads the OBDII computer. If the computer throws a flag that the inspector doesn't see, he's going to nail you for not having the bulb in. He'll also charge for the offending sensor.
  2. Actually, gear box is pretty irrelevant. The final drive makes it all. It's why the SVX can do a buck 40 and still have RPM's left in torque range:headbang:
  3. Reset the computer? The computer's going to have a record of having deployed the airbag unless you reset the computer. And if your car is newer than 95/96, they're going to read the computer at the inspection station.
  4. Your posts certainly don't make you come off as someone who isn't a ricer.
  5. Odds are, your car has 4.11 final gearing. At that speed, 60mph is ~2500 RPM. 70mph is ~2800-2900 RPM.
  6. Racing is bad and illegal, mmkay? Must I point you to the SVX forum about this? Legacies aren't fast. Period. Unless you mod them, they aren't fast in straight line races.
  7. When my MAF went, it did the exact same things you describe. Replaced it with a known good one and has worked ever since. I don't advise cleaning them since they are very fragile.
  8. Find a 92-94 Touring Wagon. They all have autos () but they are a turbo wagon. You could always pick one up cheap and do a 5MT swap.
  9. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of my dash with it clearly marked, but I can point out to you exactly where to look. It's a little black square about the size of a tack. http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a339/Planarian98/Car/DSCN1540.jpg <-- immediately to the left of the gas can in the gauge cluster. You can't quite see it on that picture.
  10. I would assume that between the Legacy, SVX, and Impreza, they all got the same size gas tank (that being 15.9 gal). Now, the shape of it may be different, but 15.9 gallons is Subaru standard for the "newer generation."
  11. I'd hardly call 2-3 mpg a significant drop. Maybe your car just needs worked back in a little bit. Come back to us having driven 7 or 8 tanks and complain.
  12. They weren't the last time I checked. The AWD and FWD tanks on the Legacy are the exact same size; the 15.9 gallon standard.
  13. Only the ones that are badged as "2.5RS" have the same engine as the Legacy GT (This only works up until like 1999, I believe).
  14. General observation from those of us on the bbs. http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?t=25626&highlight=speedo+wrong http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?t=22740&highlight=speedo
  15. The caps lock button is the one right next to the 'a' button..... Do a search about the gauges, this topic has been covered many many times.
  16. 90-94 Legacy stock rim sizes make the speedo read 10% fast. Jumping to 16in rims makes the speedo run ~accurate.
  17. From stock, the speedo reads faster than you're actually going. So, unless he's jumping to huge tires, I doubt the change is going to be that substantial.
  18. I don't think so. SVX and Legacy parts don't always interchange as nicely as Legacy and Impreza parts.
  19. The amount of error in your speedo won't increase that much if you change your tire height.
