Help! Why can't I bleed brakes on '92 Loyale?
Quidam replied to Brettm57's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Well, just some thoughts I'm throwing out. I've never had success bleeding brakes on these cars without bleeding LF, RR, RF, LR. In that order. I have unhooked all hillholders, worthless to me. I gravity bleed every time. And that's been a lot of times. Doug -
Documented: The 1970 FF-1 Project car...
Quidam replied to Kostamojen's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Wow. Long story short. I have four Keystone wheels that were made in the 60's.One got ruined many years ago. For years I haven't been able to find another anywhere. I've searched high and low. Three wheels. Not much use except for two on the front and two different ones on the back, something like that. If it's available, consider buying a fifth one. Just in case. Doug -
Subaru ownership,...and paint ball?
Quidam replied to Subeast-EA81's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
I have shot them, I've never "played" the game. I'm thinking off road, paint ball, while driving Subarus. Doug -
Two humans ok. Cool. Sorry for your loss. That's racing. Doug

Bob, I'm not picking on you. Not calling you out. It's just something that comes up on this board over and over. When someone asks about carbs... "I do not want to go FI. Period. Please dont try to change my mind, it wont happen." I grew up with them. I've probably rebuilt close to 100 of them. I can make them work. Often, on the cheap. F.I. guys run from them! lol A lot of those guys just don't understand them, or why "anyone" would want one. Enough. I'm just going to tune it out from this day foreward. Doug

In 2003 I bought a set of 175/70 RWL Dayton Daytonas. Nice tires. I went back for another set. Discontinued. Can't say I've ran across any RWL 13 since. I've looked at a lot of 13" new tires lately. What I did find, was what looks like a good, "new to me" selection of Sumitomo tires recently. Doug

EA-82 Exhaust Manifold Gaskets
Quidam replied to Quidam's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Hi, Good Morning all. Last two Y pipes I've done, I used Beck Arney. Slide them over the studs and they stay there. Nice. I don't have any on hand to take pics of because I used them:). Just a wide variety of materials and construction out there. Doug -
EA-82 Exhaust Manifold Gaskets
Quidam replied to Quidam's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
The ones on the right are from NAPA from about a year ago. The bottom metal is more like OEM. The others are recent multi layer from Fel Pro. I have used both sizes on the manifold to head interface on a EA-82. Of course, I belt sand the flange on the pipe flat. They'll all work if you do that. Doug -
Three different kinds I have.

Do tell. I need some 4X100mm custom wheels. Sincerely, Doug

Hi, This very swap is in my near future. What year DR tranny are you using? I may use a '86 or an '89. Doug -
Hi, Without reading the replies, put a vacume gage on the motor. Report what it reads. Doug Edit. I would take a very close look at the radiator as well. Pull it out, strip it down, flush it out. I'd want that vacume number. Edit: If it has good vacume, it has good compression. If it has good compression, it has good vacume.

First time Owner 87' GL Wagon Help PLz
Quidam replied to Caramanos2000's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Hi, It sounds like your brakes may need to bleed the brakes as well. Left front, right rear, right front, left rear. Doug -
Ok, talk to me. Is is carbureted, MPFI, MPFI Turbo, SPFI? Forget about any main relay for right now, k? It's fuel, or spark. Like the man said. Need more info. Doug
-
Hi, Yes. Put a battery charger on it. Check and clean the battery connections. Let us know what happens. Doug
-
Hi GD, It doesn't. Any Corvette, other than a modern C 5, I wouldn't give you much for it, if I had to drive it. To each their own. I don't bash a lifted Subaru, tho I will "never" build one. I'd buy a Jeep. I could go on and on. Bashing the old 82 doesn't deter me from enjoying them one bit. One of your fans, Sincerely, Doug

And sell me those stinkin carbs. Cheap.
