  1. This machine shop in Chehalis may be a good option. http://www.partsandpeople.com/node/6572 One of these days I will get the 3 door I got from you online.

  3. If I'm not mistaken the EJ transmission case and an adapter isn't the solution here. There are two reasons for the adapter plate on an EJ engine to EA transmission conversion. First there is the difference in the top fasteners and the locating dowels and second the EA transmission main drive gear (input shaft) sticks out 12 or 13 mm (1/2 inch +/-) further from the front face of the transmission than it does on and EJ transmission case. I'm not familiar with the fat case as to whether it is the same as the EA81 /82 series engine rear pattern but even if it is if the adapter between the engine and EJ transmission will have the main drive gear not reaching where it would need to be. The distance of the stickout would be about an inch shorter than it should be. ymmv
  4. Rockauto says they have one available https://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=948931
  5. I'm not familiar with the differences from the US engines in your market but can't you use the EJ25 intake maniflold on the EJ22 without transferring everything?
  6. Any updates on this? I would be willing to contribute some funds to the project if it would help.
  7. Add a flat washer or two under the bolt head so the bolt doesn't bottom. I believe you will find the only double width bearing (for lack of a better term) in the kit will be the toothed idler which is the one that fails the most often.
  8. I'm pretty sure the 44 and 40.5 tooth reference is for the 2.2 that has a 211 tooth belt. Your 2.5 I believe has a 223 tooth belt.
  9. Hey Skylar, I found this site that has Snowman's spfi guide that may help clear some stuff up for you. I believe it was about converting EA82 carbed engines but the electrical should apply. http://www.docstoc.com/docs/84143886/Conversion-Manual
  10. If a person swaps ecu's do you need to stay transmission specific (auto or manual)? I have a 98 2.2 lego with a 5 speed and would like to try the 2.5 ecu. Thanks
  11. How quick do you need to have them gone? It may be a couple of weeks before I would be in your neighborhood.
  12. My guess would be that your negitive cable is disconnected and your grounding through the clutch cable during cranking.
  13. With an axle out you are only turning the differential gears but with both you are turning the ring gear as well (you may call it the crown wheel or?) I would pull the plug as suggested above and you will probably find some chunks.
