  1. I believe the overheat indicator itself melts.
  2. The WRX caliper mount can be adapted to the XT6 (not a bolt on) and once it's mounted you can run the WRX brake components on the XT6 hub. IIRC the center hole is larger and the bolt pattern is different so a spacer to keep it centered and then sort out the mounting holes.
  3. Isn't that how the existing lunchbox lockers for other makes do it anyway?
  4. I'm sure it's possible, but maybe not as easy as a gen II or III. I don't have any first gen swap experience, hopefully someone who does will chime in.
  5. I don't think it has much first gen info.
  6. Your free engine sounds like it has a phase II bottom end. The thrust position is # 5 and they went back to the 52mm rod bearings instead of the 48 mm one's they used on the EJ25D. (I think I've got the rod journal diameters correct)
  7. Shouldn't the crank sprocket be aligned from the mark on the trigger wheel (or whatever it is called) rather than the front of the sprocket?
  8. It looks like the predicted snow level is somewhere between 4000 and 5000 ft higher than Cougar Rock, I think you would be safe. http://www.atmos.washington.edu/data/rainier_report.html
  9. I try to pay attention to the electronic signs that are posted by the detours as I have found them to provide pretty good information.
  10. You must have taken a real scenic route, that detour shouldn't add 10 minutes.
  11. Does that look like your a/c compressor mount Mykey? (sorry for the hi-jack)
  12. What Gloyale said, Help us help you here and please tell us the year, model, and engine OF THE CAR! not what year you think the trans is from....not very helpful information. You still didn't say the year of the car. Maybe look in the door jam for a date code if you don't know?
  13. IIRC the intake ducting on an EJ tangles with where the fuel tank is on the pre Vanagon Volksie buses without some pretty serious surgery whereas an EA has clearance.
  14. Did you get a different (longer) set of ARP studs and if so what is the part number? Thanks!
  15. I edited the post with the link. I'm fairly certain it used to be there but here it is anyway. http://www.apexglass.net/
  16. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tacoma_Mall_shooting
  17. Check the compressor clutch for continuity.
  18. That was around the time that they came with the 134a refrigerant and POE or PAG oil compatible desiccant which should be fine. (same era the manufacturers were transitioning to 134a) You probably won't have any issues. Research XH5, XH7, and XH9 desiccant's for information.
  19. Put flat washers between the transaxle and starter to slightly space the starter back so the drive gear clears the flywheel gear. I don't know what to tell you on the engine wanting to die.
  20. Good plan, the drier should be replaced just as a good service procedure and depending on the time frame the original was made it may not have a compatible desiccant in it. Anything made in the last 20 or so years should be fine but prior to that could be questionable.
  21. If your making a coupling sleeve I believe some rosette welds would help as well.
  22. If you are getting vapor bubbles in your sight glass with your compressor running I'd check and see if the suction line is cold or sweating and if it is you may have a blend door partially open mixing air from the heater core.
  23. Would you have a link for manufacturers nomenclature on your propane components? Thanks.
