  1. curious, Its an automatic, the front diff would be the AT fluid right? -Justin
  2. kind've yea.. though, when i first got to sniffing around under there i also thought i smelled it over by the ABS module... I guess i'll just have to wait and see when it comes back stronger. I had the "circulating" A/C going today.. maybe i'll have to fight the stench and put it on regular mode.. -Justin
  3. Nope and no.. nothing is wet under there except that hose.. As a reference too.. It was wet before i washed under the hood. I wiped it down to see if it returns to the same spot.. too much pressure and the oil is leaking out?? that cant be right because i'd be losing freon right?? Just a regular car wash tire/engine cleaner, little bit of soap wash and a light Wax spray ;-) works every time -Justin
  4. Looked at the hose this morning.. There really wasnt enough on it to get a feel of if it was oily. I kinda looked green. -Justin
  5. Ok, so i cleaned the engine.. question. what does the refrigerant/Freon smell like? I washed it this morning and now when i got home just now, i have a wet something or another on the High side of the A/C hose. I take a quick whiff of it and thats what i'm smelling. Not nearly as *much* potency but still that smell. Could it be the hose itself getting too hot?? It was 101 out today and the A/C blew and kept the car cold considering the back window is still plastic. -Justin
  6. yea. And actually the boots are in good shape. I'm going to try and see if i can wash down the engine today and see if i can see anything leaking.. -Justin
  7. So i started having this smell come into my car. I know it IS my car because it will start to smell when I'm by myself. Its very hard to describe and only happens when the A/C is on and, from what i can figure, stops when I turn the knob to "recirculating" air. Its not Coolant, and is defiantly not fuel or exhaust - at least, not from what i can figure. Its kind've a bitter "wthell is that" smell, freon maybe since i really only smell it when i'm in A/C mode??? though, I only smell it when I'm at a stand still. And my A/C blows cold cold. I think the smell goes away if i turn to "vent" mode. I know I'm not crazy because i had some passengers today and they noticed it too. Ideas? edit: I think i can still smell it when i pop the hood.. near the ABS module? it makes a humming sound even after the car is off.. for a while -Justin
  8. Nope, not at all! Like I said it was probably just that green plug that was the culprit. The alternator didn't know to charge the battery so it didn't, mainly because it didn't know any better. Since your newest results reflect the battery at 723 over the 401 you last had, that says a lot about your alternator... Its in good shape. Unless you charged your battery by some other means. -Justin
  9. Holy Crap Jeszek! How did you find my string of bad luck all the way down there?!? Glad you at least were able to get everyone home. Having that "Roadside Assistance" is a life saver in some situations. I have it on my wife's car mainly because if I'm stuck on the side of the road I can deal with it - If my wife was... yea she'd freak out. Come to think of it, I should add it to my Impreza.. Handy little feature to have on the insurance. Hope your luck gets better! -Justin
  10. Well, as far as if your battery is bad.. probably not. .. you just have a really good battery is all. The reason why your CCA is a lot lower the 2nd time is because your alternator, obviously, wasnt charging as it should. So the Measured and the "Rated" numbers didn't add up. Did they bring the tester out to the car or did you bring the battery in? Try taking the battery in and do a full test on it. They'll charge it for about 45 minutes and then do a test. The ones that they test it while in the car, yea, they aren't *that* reliable. IIRC, the little green plug is what tells the alternator the actual charge of the battery and whether or not to "full-field" and flat-out charge the battery, or just trickle charge it to keep it up. If it was not seated right, yea, that'll give you sporadic battery dash flashing goo. As far as the clutch, I'm not too sure. do you have any leaks? i'm sure you have all the fluids? did you bleed the clutch after you changed the slave cylinder? edit: if you really doubt if your battery is bad, have it fully tested. Or, just drive it around - It wouldnt be long before it would noticeable that your battery is low since it would be harder to start -Justin
  11. I already tried that route.. he said no :-/. I'll probably run by there tuesday if it is still there and give it a shot... -Justin
  12. I know turbos are on manual trannys.. Would an electric supercharger be bad on an automatic? Edit: since the boost doesn't change depending on how much rpm youre at?? -Justin
  13. Hello! Hello! Yea, it's nice to see someone else around Denver on here.... Now I don't feel so lonely. Though, most of the good deals on parts are in the N.W. I might pick your brain about a supercharger for my impreza. Welcome! -Justin
  14. What'll you give me? Give me a call 720-663-7078. It'll ask you to say your name before calling, it's not a voicemail, it's google voice -Justin
  15. Well, i went up there that tuesday and pulled that fuel gauge. I'm still having the problem with the needle dropping occasionally - Not a biggie, i can deal with it. I'll probably clean the sending unit or something. How long do the cars stick around up there shawn? I was a bit intimidated to remove that glass, I didnt want to break it. I could likiley put it in, no problem. Are you any good at removing that glass? Maybe you could give me a hand one day, or I could pay you to do it -Justin
  16. Oh, BTW, this car is kick as*! Id love to see that one in person! -Justin
  17. Heh, I'd like that one too! There's a lifted Mustang running around my neck of the woods.. also a Chevy Bellair running around too. I imagine, the same could be said about lifting a family wagon and 4wheeling it... -Justin
  18. -Justin btw i hate you too
  19. lol, sorry.. i actually dont have a diagram but i mentioned the correct wire and how to locate it in that post. the video is simply the tach working is all. You still have that Loyale? how did you get the paddle shifter mod to work? -Justin
  20. Oh i figured that with the coil pack - Since it fires 1/3 and 2/4 simultaneously. Using the Red wire behind the cluster worked out better, I'd rather use a signal that i dont have to modify than use one that i have to Jerry-rig. btw, its not a EJ swap, It has a EJ22 built in ;-) -Justin
  21. Also, how would i attach the MAF to it? I'm assuming everything isnt pictured? -Justin
  22. Well, as performance IS a plus.. i'm really mostly interested in MPG. I'm cheap-o guy and do a lot of O.T.R. traveling. I'd Like to have an added performance, sure... maybe even a little growl under the hood and from the tail. But I'm really wanting MPG.. this would help? -Justin
  23. so being a N/A engine, putting something like a cold air intake and a better air filter would be pointless? I was thinking that might help me a bit. found a kit for it might work? http://www.vistaautoparts.com/auto_parts/SR1435X9381797.htm -Justin
  24. I would say yes? you should get +12 to it assuming it passes it when activated. try probing instead of removing the switch? did you find the wire that goes to the tail? -Justin
