  1. Hmm.. Thanks tom! I will try checking that. It's been cold here lately i cant get out and look/fix it; cant get it into the in-law's garage and freeze my butt off! its a catch all the way around! I Spoke with Breeke a couple days ago in the chat and mentioned double checking voltage for the blower.. It blows great but double checking +12. Thanks! -Justin
  2. Oh yea. You will bump/nudge/drop stuff on it much more often! LOL a week or so after --^ that happened to my toes.. i was cleaning out my storage, picked up a laptop, and the flippin' battery fell out! Guess where it landed. Pointed, and touched NO other toe. Not a flat side, not the bottom no.. a point and dead on the toe. Stuff like that is a magnet for stuff to fall on. -Justin
  3. I really don't like doctors either. I dropped a server tower on my right Big toe, and a 8-Unit Rack Server on my left Big toe. (Yes, Both Big toes) Needless to say.. I was a klutz that day. Anyway, since i dont like doctors, I tried to clean them up as much as i could.. they got all kinds of infected.. and doc had to remove the nails for me. and clipped away infections. Not-so-much fun! Pictures attached -Justin
  4. I generally play with the clutch while in 4wd. Probably not the best for the clutch but fun nonetheless. Slightly turning and while doing so dumping the clutch. Sometimes playing back and forth with clutch/Gas. -Justin
  5. Inner Wheel Bearings. IMHO. I have the same issue. -Justin
  6. Does anyone know how the ducting is layed out on the '88 GL's? Is there a Door that closes/Opens before the blower for both the Circulating and external air? also, is there a door just after the core? I'm trying to figure out what exactly the problem might be without dismantling the entire dash. I halfway did it and didnt seem to be something "Fun" Edit: I keep hearing something slam under the dash. -Justin
  7. I can see this concept being used to power an additional Alternator or something of the like. Least that would be the most beneficial.
  8. To add.. the more I think about it.. the less likely of it actually doing anything. Least anything of benefit. You would be using the same amount of fuel and wouldn't be getting much if any HP. edit: In my opinion of course. I am just a weekend Mechanic. -Justin
  9. ... That's... an interesting idea. I Imagine IF it were possible it would either have to be driven by something like a timing belt. (less slipage) or a chain. Just my addition. IF it were possible. Now my thinking about it is.. (and I am NO engineer and simply a weekend mechanic) It would not work. Simply because timing would be inconstant. Well.. maybe not if because it would be adding fuel and igniting at the same position of the piston. I don't know. it would be interesting to see what you would get out of it. I imagine you would use the same amount of fuel. If you didn't, there would be less exhaust, and less energy to steal from it? the reverse Supercharger would have to be spinning quite a bit to be able to "Put" energy into the crank instead of steal energy from it. -Justin
  10. interesting.. So i was driving home and i heard a duct door either slam open or slam shut. didnt do much for the air flow. didnt seem like the selection changed. (i was in heat mode) is this an indication of something bad? -Justin
  11. well i pulled the blower out, didn't find any debris other than a tiny piece of tape. i felt in through to the left (towards the core) and up to where the air comes into the blower, didnt find anything. where does that intake come from? maybe its blocked? maybe the fender? -Justin
  12. I'm having an interesting heating/AC Issue on my '88 GL Wagon. Heat blows Hot, and AC Blows Cold but I get almost no actual blowing air out of the vents. I thought maybe the vents aren't changing modes. So I first checked the vacuum line under the hood, and checked the line all the way to the mode selector. All good.. Then I then checked the ducting, Mostly the defroster, and switched modes. The doors open and close. Still getting almost no air blowing out of my vents. One thing i noticed though... when i switch to defroster, It blows, not much but it does. I get cold air blowing through my dash. Anyway, My Blower works! I checked that, I even rebuilt it, and tested. When its free flowing, it blows pretty steady and well. So my question is i guess.. anyone have any suggestions where i should check next? Maybe my exterior air intake is clogged up? and thats why its not blowing much when i re-install the blower? where is that ducting and how do i get to it? -Justin
  13. there are 2 screws on the inside top of the cluster, and i think 2 others just under the bevel under the lights. and use a flat-head to remove. If i remember correctly though.. I am laying down on the couch at the moment.. 'roo is out in the cold.. :-P Its pretty strait-forward on how to dismantle it just by looking at it.. no hidden screws. -Justin
  14. i know on my GL they are all under there so.. anyway yea give that a try. -Justin
  15. I dont know which one Exactly is the relay but have you looked behind the fuse box under the dash? -Justin
  16. hmm.. weird stupid sprint.. different server: -Justin
  17. ya know, when i was doing the walk-around I wanted to be sure that i checked that.. obviously i didn't, and it didn't catch my eye since it wasn't on. oh and Abides here's some snaps of the indication:
  18. I know this comes up a lot.. this inst a question though I just wanted to share. So I was tearing apart my dash to find the some gremlins. When i started pulling apart the spedo cluster, i noticed.. I had some indication lights missing. Now I know there are some that are just spacers, but my Check engine light had no bulb. Stealing the one from the "charge" indication, i plugged it back in. and Wow, (not so surprised though) it was on. drove it for a bit, still on. So I called the guy who i bought it from and asked him if he noticed it not being on. He said "I didn't want that to effect the sale of the car". Wow, I would've bought the car anyway regardless of the light being on. (I bought it for 280 bucks) But I just found it funny what people will go through just to sell the car. -Justin
  19. yea, if i remember too.. if you unplug it, the lights wont even come on... -Justin
  20. I was actually going to get to that.. wasnt too sure if it was worth it to anyone on here.. but I'm yanking apart my dash today.. i'll take a few snaps of wire locations. -Justin
  21. I spaced that you posted that.. I did the same thing.. i put a 3 way switch on the door. Up for unlock, down for lock, Middle for natural. but yea.. that was handy..
  22. That is a SWEET Picture. Thanks for showing us! My wife and I wanted to go there (corse this was before the little one came along). With a view like that, a bad day turned great! Thanks! -Justin
  23. i dont think there is any airflow on the outside of the window. would be a waste of heat. mine takes a while too but my ducting has a hole somewhere... -Justin
  24. I'm diggin' the lift and tires of the 'roo in the 3rd picture. Looks Smexy IMHO.
